A Biographical Dictionary of Health Care Professionals in the Sudan
|
موسوعة الأطباء والصيادلة وأطباء الأسنان في السودان
|
The Biographical Dictionary of Health Care Professionals in the Sudan is intended to document the lives and work of the men and women who have served in health care institutions or contributed to health and medicine in service and research in the Sudan in the first 75 years of the 20th century i.e. 1903 - 1978. The dictionary will be a ‘Who’s Who’ of Sudanese health care professionals, Britons, and other expatriate staff.
Each biographical entry will describe an individual as faithfully and accurately as available data permit. This will require as much information from you to make your profile accurate.
If you graduated after 1978, you may also send your personal data for future update of this work.
Most importantly, if you graduated after 1978, do not forget to send a list of your publications for entry in the Bibliography irrespective of your age

Pioneers of Sudanese Medicine
series

سلسلة رواد الطب في السودان
|
This series of monographs will document the lives and work of the men and women who have shaped health care services in the Sudan. The series will profile the individuals whose work has contributed significantly to the establishment and development of the medical profession. Some of these men and women have treaded into the medical field before others, ventured into new specialties, researched the field, or made new discoveries or techniques.
They collectively set respectable traditions and established firm foundation for health care delivery, research, teaching and training. They have taught and trained several generations, and more importantly, mentored and provided guidance and encouragement to the young and aspiring physicians. They were, without exception, meticulous clinicians, imaginative and illustrious teachers, and hard-working researchers. In their exemplary lives, they maintained unimpeachable professional integrity, upheld strict medical ethics, and set models of admirable behaviour. Individuals in this category will be contacted in person for more information.

This is a compilation of medical literature on the Sudan by Sudanese scholars and expatriate staff produced during the 20th century. It will include, in addition to published material, grey literature i.e. technical reports, white papers, drafts, departmental manuals, conference papers and proceedings, relevant articles in newspapers, raw data, memoranda, project summaries, trip reports, working and discussion papers, unofficial government documents, studies, market surveys, pamphlets, brochures, and newsletters.
Please send to us your list of publications irrespective of the year of your graduation. Also, do not hesitate to send any list of publications of any deceased relative or friend if you have them.
We need the citation of the publications and not their text.
To ensure completeness and accuracy of the proposed trilogy, you are cordially requested to submit your full or brief curriculum vitae, list of publications if any, and/or a copy of any relevant documents you have produced. This information will be archived, edited and entered in the relevant part of the Trilogy. In addition, if you have any information or comments on any other doctor, pharmacist, or dentist, Sudanese or expatriate, please do not hesitate to share your information with us.
Compiling this trilogy will only be possible if you provide the necessary information on your good self. So please give this request your immediate attention.
