Document on rolling back malaria issued
Khartoum, May 8 (SUNA) - With participation of representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF and partners, the 17th Conference of Directors of Programs for Combating Malaria in the various States of Sudan has issued in its final session in Obeid, the capital of Northern Kordofan State, a document on rolling back malaria. The document reiterated necessity of enactment of laws and regulations on rolling back malaria in all states and localities, reduction of malaria mortalities as well as holding training sessions on integrated program on fighting diseases communicators and expanding the strategy of combating malaria to include volunteers from local communities. Malaria national coordinator Dr. Tareq Abdel-Gadir called for setting up effective mechanisms for translating the recommendations into practical steps towards realizing the objectives. AS/BT
