Ibrahim Mohammed El-Salahi Born in Omdurman, Sudan, Ibrahim Mohammed El-Salahi is an artist and poet and has served his country in many capacities, including Assistant Cultural Attaché at the Sudan Embassy in London, and Undersecretary for the Sudan Ministry of Culture and Information. He was also responsible for establishing the Department of Culture for the Sudan Government. His one-man shows include exhibiting in Sudan, Nigeria, France, England, Portugal, USA, Germany, Kuwait, as well as group shows in India, Uganda, Algeria, Ireland, and Egypt. His work is in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art and Metropolitan Museum in New York, The National Gallery of Victoria in Australia, and National Gallery of Berlin. Among his Awards include the UNESCO Fellowship (Fine Arts), the Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship, Order of Knowledge of Democratic Republic of Sudan (gold), and the Order of Knowledge, Arts & Letters of Democratic Republic of Sudan (silver).
