It looks into how immigration has affected the cultural perceptions of women, in particular their views about female circumcision (FC). Three focus groups of women of different age groups participated in the research. One woman of each group was interviewed in depth. Open-ended questions and semi- structured interviews were conducted. “I have had the privilege of engaging in wanasa [‘talking’ or ‘chatting’] for many years with the Sudanese and it is most rare that the conversation should turn to such an open discussion of this ubiquitous Sudan cultural practice of female circumcision or genital cutting. اضافة ضرورية حيث ان الكاتبة ناشطة واكاديمية سودانية فمعظم الكتب التي هيئ لي ان اقرؤها عموما عن المراة السودانية من كاتبات غير سودانيات عشن لفترة في السودان واهتمن بقضية المراةالسودانية ( مثال صديقتنا سوندرا هيل ) واهم ما يبدولي ان يكون في هذا الكتاب -والله اعلم حتي اقرا الكتاب- الغوص في شان المراة السودانية من خلال شريحة مثلت كل السودان في المهجر باختلاف مناطقها واثنياتها السودانية ..
وفي انتظار ان ياتي به البريد ليتم مناقشته هنا او في غير منتديات فالامر يستوجب ذلك كونه رائدا لما يكتب في هذا الشان ...
