Liz Walker -

Award-winning journalist Liz Walker is a news anchor for CBS4 weekdays at Noon. Walker joined the station in 1980 and went on to anchor the station’s evening newscasts for almost 20 years before moving to the dayshift in 2000 to spend more quality time with her family. Walker has twice traveled to war-torn Sudan where she witnessed a controversial slavery redemption effort at buying back the freedom of thousands of Sudanese women and children enslaved as part of a brutal 20 year civil war. So touched by what they saw in Sudan, she co-founded a human rights organization My Sister’s Keeper aimed at helping the Sudanese rebuild their communities and their lives. Walker, who now also attends Harvard's Divinity School (working around her TV schedule), has produced several news specials on the Sudan Crisis.

Recognized often for her exemplary work on the air and in her local community, Walker has a special interest in the victims and survivors domestic violence, and serves, along with former state representative Marjorie Claprood, as co-chair of the Jane Doe Safety Fund. Walker has served on committees and boards of the Big Sister Association, Boston’s Children’s Museum, The Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts and the Pediatric AIDS Charitable Trust of Boston.

Thanks Ya Khalid Kodi fior this important event... I'm glad that you are part of this Yom Hashoah event that is linking the Holocaust to darfur as way to bring the attention of the world to this ongoing tragedy....

be prepared to some narrow-minded attackers who will acuse you of trying to Christianizing the Darfur people... no wonder, whenever they got a chance they tried to 'islamize' those under their control....I was a witness for a case speaks to this and I'm not making assumption here...!
Continue the struggle Ya fanan Alsha'ab...
