المساعدات الأميركية لضحايا السيول في السودان#

تضامنا مع الشعب السوداني، عزمت سفارة الولايات المتحدة بالخرطوم علي أن تقدم مبلغ قدره 50,000 دولار للتخفيف من المعاناة الناجمة عن السيول الاخيرة بالسودان، اضافة للمساعدات الانسانية المنقذة للحياة للمتضررين من السيول. أثرت السيول الناتجة عن الامطار الغزيرة علي اكثر من 147,000 شخص في ثماني ولايات في السودان منذ اوائل اغسطس، ويشمل هذا أكثرمن 84,000 شخص في ولاية الخرطوم، حيث دمرت السيول وأضرت بعدد كبير من المنازل ، اضافة للبنية التحتية. هذه المساعدات الاضافية التي ستقدمها حكومة الولايات المتحدة الامريكية، ستدعم جهود اتحاد جمعيات الصليب والهلال الاحمر الدوليين للوقوف علي الاحتياجات الجارية، تنسيقا مع شركاء محليين لتقديم الاغاثة الفورية للمجتمعات المحلية. مساهمتنا لحالة الطوارئ بمبلغ 50,000 دولار امريكي بالاضافة لاكثر من 137 مليون دولار قدمت من قبل حكومة الولايات المتحدة في السودان هذا العام لتمويل شركائنا في العمل الانساني.
ستقوم الوكالة الامريكية للتنمية الدولية بالمشاركة مع شركائها المحليين بالمراقبة المستمرة للوضع في الاماكن المتأثرة وستقيم الوضع لتلبية اي احتياجات اضافية اذا دعت الحاجة

For Immediate Release August 12, 2013 MEDIA NOTE U.S. Assistance to Flood Victims in Sudan The Embassy wishes to announce that in solidarity with the Sudanese people and to alleviate suffering resulting from recent flash floods in Sudan, the United States Government is providing $50,000 in additional humanitarian assistance to support life-saving aid for flood-affected populations. Since early August, heavy rainfall and resultant flash flooding have affected approximately 147,000 people across eight states in Sudan, including more than 84,000 people in worst-affected Khartoum State, and damaged or destroyed houses and public infrastructure. The additional United States Government assistance will support the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies for ongoing needs assessments in coordination with a local partner and to provide immediate relief assistance to communities. Our emergency contribution of $50,000 is in addition to more than $137 million in United States Government funding to humanitarian partners to provide assistance in Sudan this fiscal year. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in coordination with its local partners will continue to monitor the situation in flood-affected areas and assess potential needs for further assistance.
