أحرز السوداني أبوبكر كاكي فضية سباق 800 م ضمن النسخة الثالثة عشرة من بطولة العالم لألعاب القوى المقامة حالياً في مدينة دايغو الكورية الجنوبية حتى الأحد المقبل.
وقطع كاكي مسافة السباق بزمن 41ر44ر1 دقيقة خلف الكيني ديفيد روديشا صاحب الرقم القياسي العالمي والذي نال الذهبية بزمن 91ر43ر1 دقيقة، فيما عادت البرونزية إلى الروسي يوري بورزاكوفسكي بزمن 49ر44ر1 دقيقة.
وضرب كاكي عصفورين بحجر واحد فهو منح بلاده ميداليتها الأولى في تاريخ البطولة، وعوض فشله في الدور نصف النهائي للنسخة الأخيرة في برلين عندما تعثر ولم يكمل السباق، وفقاً لفرانس برس.
