المؤتمر الوطني يتهم أمريكا بضغط الدول لمنع عبور طائرة البشير

Quote: الخرطوم فى 27-6-2011م (سونا) اتهم المؤتمر الوطنى الولايات المتحدة الامريكية بتحريض الدول التى لم تسمح بمرور الطائرة الرئاسية التى تقل السيد رئيس الجمهورية والوفد المرافق فى طريقه الى العاصمة الصينية بكين انطلاقا من العاصمة الايرانية طهران بعد مشاركته فى مؤتمر حول الارهاب هناك وقال رئيس القطاع السياسي بالحزب الدكتور قطبي المهدى فى تصريحات صحفية تعليقا على الامر ، إن الضغوط من الادارة الامريكية واردة على هذه الدول خاصة وانها قد مارست الضغوط نفسها على الحكومة الصينية من اجل الغاء الزيارة وبالتالي نتوقع ان يكون هناك نوع من الضغوط مورست من الأمريكان على بعض الدول التى كان من المفترض ان تمر طائرة رئيس الجمهورية باجوائها واشار د. قطبي الى ان هناك بعض الدول الصديقة للسودان لا تأتمر برأي الامريكان وبالتالى نؤكد ان الزيارة قد تم استئنافها وقال ان اتمام هذه الزيارة وفى رد على سؤال حول اعتبار البعض ان زيارة المشير البشير للصين تعد خطرا على السيد رئيس الجهورية فى ظروف مثل ظروف السودان اقر رئيس القطاع السياسي بالامر وقال كل رئيس يقف امام المصالح الاستعمارية يكون دائما عرضة لبعض المخاطر الا انه عاد وقال : ندرك ذلك ولكن كل هذه الاشياء تتم وفق تقديرات امنية محسوبة ونحن مطمئنون على سلامة الرئيس

Quote: WASHINGTON (AFP) – The United States on Monday signaled opposition to a visit to China by Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, who is accused of war crimes. Bashir, after a reported delay, is due to visit China on Tuesday amid outrage from rights groups that Beijing would host a man wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for crimes against humanity during Sudan's civil war. "We continue to oppose invitations, facilitation, support for travel by ICC indictees," State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland told reporters. "We have a longstanding policy of strongly urging other nations to do the same," she said. "We have urged China to join the international community in its call for Sudan to cooperate fully with the ICC," in line with UN Security Council resolution 1593, Nuland said. The ICC has issued arrest warrants for Bashir for genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes in Sudan's western Darfur region, where about 300,000 people have died since 2003. He is the first sitting head of state to be targeted by an ICC warrant. ICC statutes dictate that any member country should arrest Bashir if he visits. China is not a party to those statutes.

There was no official explanation for Mr Bashir's delay, which left diplomats having to cancel a planned meeting with Hu Jintao, the Chinese president and Sudan's most powerful patron. The state visit has been highly controversial, with human rights groups calling upon China to either refuse Mr Bashir entry or turn him over to the ICC to face charges of genocide in the western region of Darfur. The Chinese Foreign ministry said it had no idea why the Sudanese president had failed to arrive, when he was coming, or whether the state visit would go ahead. The decision to divert President Bashir's plane appears to have been taken at the last minute, leaving Sudan's ambassador in Beijing waiting on the tarmac for a flight that never arrived. The Sudan Tribune said that al-Bashir had decided to stop in Tehran because he was concerned his flight path would take him over countries that could force his jet to land in the Hague. In particular, his route may have taken him above Pakistan and Afghanistan and air space patrolled by the United States air force. "Sources tell me that Bashir's plan returned to Iran after takeoff because of "risky" route," said Wasil Ali, the deputy editor of the Sudan Tribune, on Twitter. In the past, Mr Bashir has cancelled a trip to Malaysia at the last minute because of fears that he would be apprehended. Officials said Mr Bashir would arrive in China on Tuesday.
