دعا السودان، دولة الكويت إلى ضرورة بذل مزيد من الجُهد للمُساهمة في إعفاء ديون السودان الخارجية. واتفق الجانبان على أن الديون تُشكِّل عبئا على السودان ما يستدعي التحرك المشترك لدى الدول الدائنة، ونادي باريس من أجل إعفائها أو تخفيضها, كما اتفق الجانبان أمس (الثلاثاء)، على ضرورة زيادة حجم التبادل الاقتصادي. وقال علي الصادق، مدير الإدارة العربية بوزارة الخارجية، إن الجانبين أكدا على ضروره الإسراع في المُصادقة على اتفاق التعاون التجاري بين البلدين واستكمال إجراءاته الدستورية لتفعيل عمل اللجنة التجارية المُشتركة. وقال إن السودان دعا الجانب الكويتي للاستثمار في المجال المصرفي، وفتح مصرف في السودان لدعم التحويلات المصرفية، وأن الجانب الكويتي وعد بدراسة المقترح والرد عليه عبر القنوات الدبلوماسية، موضحاً أن وفد السودان طرح الإمكانيات الاستثمارية الكبيرة في البلاد، وأبدى رغبته في جذب الاستثمارات الكويتية، كما اقترح عقد مُلتقى استثماري في النصف الثاني من العام الحالي في الكويت. ووقع علي كرتي وزير الخارجية، ونظيره الكويتي، الصباح خالد الأحمد على (5) اتفاقيات خلال اللجنة الوزارية المُشتركه بين البلدين في دورتها الثانية، تشمل اتفاقا في مجال التعاون الصناعي واتفاقية قرض تمويل مشروع شرق السودان واتفاقية في المجال الثقافي والفني وأخرى في المجال التجاري ومجالات التعليم والبحث العلمي.
