Reporting / M&E Specialist-Sudan

Location: Sudan, Khartoum

Project Description:
IFES holds a contract with USAID to provide technical assistance to strengthen the capacity of Sudan’s National Election Commission to implement the 2010 Presidential and Parliamentary elections, as well as the 2011 South Sudan and Abyei referenda. The program represents a central component of USAID’s efforts in Sudan to assist Sudan’s leaders in fulfilling the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement and laying a firm political foundation for the country’s future.
Job Responsibilities:
• Write weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the IFES Sudan office.
• Study the Sudan Elections Administration Support Program Program Management Plan
• Develop a database of indicators verifying the progress done against each indicator.
• Maintain and safeguard the electronic and hard copies of files related to the PMP
• Report the progress of the project in relation to the PMP to IFES HQ and USAID
• Develop and maintain a data base of minutes of meetings, photos, and various reports produced by different staff in the office.
• Participate in meetings, training events and capacity building activities to collect data in relation to reporting and M&E.
• Monitor the media and other sources of information to collect information for reporting and provide evidence to support the verification of the PMP indicators.
• Join the Country Director and other staff at important meetings, write minutes of these meetings for filing and reporting purposes.
• Conduct other activities as may be requested by the Country Director or his designee.
Qualifications:
• Masters degree in a related field preferred; Bachelor’s required;
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience directly related to reporting and monitoring & evaluation of democracy and governance projects.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English; Arabic language knowledge is an asset.
• Ability to write reports in a short period of time.
• Strong professional and collaborative skills;
• Demonstrated initiative and problem solving skills;
• Working knowledge of USAID reporting, policies and regulations;
• Ability to meet deadlines;
• Prior experience in post-conflict countries is required, and experience in Africa or the Middle east is preferred.
