فقد توسّعت معرفتي بالغناء الغربي حينما كنت أ‘مل في وظيفة: Bilingual Dispatcher في شعبة إطفاء
مطار الملك خالد الدولي بالرياض، عاصمة المملكة العربيّة السعوديّة. و كنت أقيم في قرية العازبين بالمطار " Singles Village ". و الفضل الأكبر في ذلك يعود لزملائي الفلبينيين. فقد كانوا يمثّلون الثقل الأكبر من العاملين في محطّة الإطفاء بالمطار علي مستوي القواعد. و لا أظنّه يخفي عليك أفتتان الفلبينيين بكل ّ ما هو أمريكي أو غربي، خاصة مجالي الفن و رياضة كرة السلّ الأمريكيّة. و كانوا يحرصون علي إقتناء أحدث أشرطة الفيديو السينمائيّة و الغنائيّة و السيديهات الغنائيّة الأمريكيّة التي تصلنا طازجة، و بكميّات كبيرة، دون أن تخضع للرقابة الفنيّة من السلطات السعوديّة، عبر بعض الأمريكان العاملين في مطار الملك خالد الدولي. توسّعت معارفي بالفن السينمائي و الغنائي الغربي خلال إحتكاكي المباشر بزملائي الفلبينيين. فقمت بشراء جهازي أستوريو و فيديو حديثين، و طفقت من ثمّ في شراء ما يروقني من كاسيتّات، سيديهات، و أشرطات الفيديو الحاوية علي أحدث الإنتاج الأمريكي في مجالي الغن السينمائي و الغنائي. و تكوّنت لديّ حينذاك مكتبة فنيّة:عنائيّة و سينمائيّة أمريكيّة ضخمة، تخلّصت منها برمّّتها حينماأزمعت السفر للولات المتّحدة الأمريكيّة بغرض الدراسة في سبتمبر من عام 1989م. لذا، أرجو ألا تستغرب إذا جاء إختياري لروائع الغناء الغربي في معطمة من فترة ثمانينات القرن الماضي، أخي أسعد.

أتركك في رعاية الله و حفظه. و بإذن الله سأرفد هذا الخيط السايبيري بما تيسّر لي من مكتبة الغناء الغربي الجميل.
