Rogers Television Launches New Local Arabic
Television Program

[Thursday, October 25 2007 - London, St. Thomas, Strathroy, Tillsonburg, Woodstock] Rogers Television, in partnership with Top Events Productions of London is launching a new multicultural magazine-style program. Al Magela Al Arabia (The Arabic Television Magazine) showcases the best of the thriving Arabic community in London and area. The half-hour Arabic-language program premieres Saturday, November 3rd at 12:00 PM on Rogers Television, Cable 13 (airs every Saturday at 12:00 PM, repeats Sundays at 11:00 AM).

Hosted by Londoner Munzir Nugdalla, Al Magela Al Arabia features segments on local current affairs, community leaders, cuisine, music, arts and community events.

Mike Patterson, Regional Station Manager, Rogers Television says the new series has much to offer. “Al Magela Al Arabia brings to local viewers the diverse nationalities, customs, and cultures of Arabic-speaking residents. While it’s about and produced for the local Arabic community it will also enlighten, entertain and educate anyone who watches.”

Jorge E. Herrera, President of Top Events Productions and producer of Al Magela Al Arabia, was also part of the production team that brought Magazine Latino TV (Saturdays @ 11:30 AM) to Rogers Television viewers in November 2006. Magazine Latino TV is enjoying its second season on Cable 13.

Herrera believes the new series celebrates multiculturalism. “Difference is not something that sets us apart, but rather is a common ground to celebrate what really brings us together.” He adds, “There is a population of approximately 35, 000 to 45,000 Arabic-speaking residents living in our region. Rogers Television helps us bring this unique programming to local audiences and their support is invaluable.”
