Thank you for your input. The issues you highlighted are challenges that we must all face. Yes, the reality is the Ingaz and the SPLM do have a process to which they appear committed. The process, as it stands, does not require the participation of others in any meaningful way. I think it is up to the rest of us to convince the two parties that it is in their interest to reconsider. However, before this happens the Opposition will have to improve the effectiveness of its leadership, grassroots organization, and clarity of vision

Very obliged for your response – I hope that our political scene is mature enough by now to accept that differences among political groups are the norm – this should not be a cause for concern nor should it become a reason for exclusion and political paranoia

The Sudanese expect and deserve democracy, peace and social justice these are not gifts that can be bestowed upon them, but rights that should be taken

However I have always been of the opinion that politicians should only frequent reputable forums – In my opinion Al Balal’s show is not. I say this while aware that previously members of the SCP have appeared as guests

I completely agree with regards to what the opposition needs to do to secure its objective of enhancing the democratic impulses in the Naivasha process and to sustain the peace by making it inclusive

Your prescription for the transformation of the NDA into a leading political organization is very ambitious but necessary. For too many years the NDA worked against the grain of the reasoning behind its founding, relying instead on tactics that tended, for the most part, to isolate it from its grassroots

Once the constitutional process between the Naivasha partners is concluded the Cairo forum will be rendered obsolete and any gains will have to be secured the hard way on the ground in the Sudan – the NDA and all those affiliated with it should prepare for this struggle, which requires a mass movement that is well organized and led to achieve the agenda you outlined

I for one hope the SCP will speak with vigor to these issues without the customary deference to the NDA, which has been a source of political confusion rather than much else
