hiya all.
i've spent a lot of time trying to un-infest my pc from the annoying pop-ups and spyware that keep re-directing my browser to weird sites or adding search toolbars that are so stubborn and so difficult to get rid of. I browsed the net and found some reasonable solutions and i thought i would share the culmination of my experience
I know I am addressing this to a lot of technologically challenged ppl so you don’t really have to understand every term I am gonna use, just get the idea and download the software, it is the fruit of a lot of research. But I do hope that those who are technologically advanced will give me feed back and suggestions.
so....
spyware killers I’ve used are:
1- Ad-Aware: gets rid of ‘data miners’, tracking cookies, registry entries, etc
2- Spybot Search & Destroy: gets rid of what was missed by ad-aware (there are a few DSO that are impossible to remove but they are probably harmless). And you have an option here to enable a feature that makes you aware of all suspicious changes made to your folders or your registry, it can be annoying but it gives you an indication of what is going on with your computer.
3- OmegaKillerSM: removes all those unwanted toolbars that are forced upon your browser
4- SpywareBlaster: chases away a lot of the pop ups and keeps you less vulnerable to spyware.

they are not large files and it will take you around an hour to download, install and run the above four programs. Time definitely worth investing. So.. DOWNLOAD and run them and be spyware free
also internet explorer, which most of us are used to, allows a lot of the above mentioned problem into your computer, so another suggestion I am gonna make is use ‘FireFox’ or ‘FireBird’, browsers that are more secure and as equally easy to use as internet explorer and are provided by mozilla. at first my concern was the Arabic language support but i found that it very good. The only drawback I found was with flash and macromedia display, which is not that frequent, so for that you can use explorer, just for that instance... so... download it, it will make your internet-life easier.
