شارلس دينق... يجئ من الجنوب ... جهة القلب ... لفتت نظرى مداخلة قرأتها له وهى التى ترد مباشرة بعد كلماتى هذه... فقمت بإجراء بحث سريع لمساهماته ... لأننا نعرف الرجال بكلماتهم... و نزنها بأعمالهم إن جاز لنا أن نفعل ذلك ... شارلس بدى لى متفردا فى طرحه .. عاقلا .. خاليا من كل عقد الدنيا التى يعانى منها أهل الجنوب و أهل الشمال سواء بسواء ...فهو يقرأكم بلسان عربى مبين .. ويرد عليكم بلسان إنجليزى فصيح .... لا أتفق مع كل ما يقول .. لكنى أشعر أنه صادق ... محب و مهذب...و هو كما يبدو محاور جيد و قارئ جيد أيضا .. يتخير المواضيع و يتخير كلماته... لا يخفى غضبه أحيانا... و يفكر بصوت عال أحيانا .. مثلما فعل عندما أغضب الحبيبة لنا مهدى .. و أغضبنى...

[This article by al-Tayib Mustafa reminds me of my early days in elementary and intermediate schools, which I all went through in both al-Nahud and El-Obeid. During those days my colleagues and myself would enter into kids' fights. One of them would call me "abid" and would retort back "mandukoro", a mixture of races. Sometimes the fight would turn physical, but they were kids' fights. Some of these became my best friends in the secondary and the university. Those were kids'fight, no more no less.
When I read Mr. Mustafa's article, I recalled those good old days. Mr. Mustafa does not bring to the table any new ideas. I would like to advice him, if I can, that: Mr. Mustafa you can achieve your goal of separation without insulting people, or lying about and quoting words they never said.

The problem is not encouraging the South to separate, but without its hero and leader, Dr John Garang, southerners are no longer sure of that unity is. With death of Garang, Sudan has lost the only chance for an historic opportunity to forge ahead as one of the greatest African countries. I do not believe thereis a leader whether in the South or the North who can fit into his shoes
The idea of new Sudan, requires vision and charismatic leader. We do not have that leader at present. If we were to eulgize any person, it would be the Sudan itself

Dear Darfurians, Members of DB
I blieve what has happened is not in the interest of Darfur. On the contrary, the enemies of Darfur will exploit it to the fullest extent. The splitting SLM/A should not under all circumstamces point their guns against each other. This should be avoided at all cost. If there is no way to reunite the factions, at least the two wings of the SLM/A should operate as separate organizations,with their guns pointed to the obvious enemy/enemies of Darfur. The two factions should seek to learn from the lessons of the SPLM/A in divisions, and they should remember what happend with the war efforts of the SPLM/A between 1992-1994.
My advice to the members of the Board from Darfur is to keep nuetral and not to take sides, because threy are the elements of unity. I remember, when the SPLM/A was mired in divisions, it was southerners who were outside the movement who gave counsel to the southern factions. Although their success was minimal, there is no reason to believe that Darfurians who would keep cool #########, will not succed

Thank you. You are absolutely right in the information you provided. Boalad was a nationalist Darfurian. His campaign was provided with the best SPLA officers and were led , as you correctly said, by Abdel Aiz al-Hilu. One of my comrades and relative died in that campaign. When the dust settles we would ask our Darfurian brothers question which they will have to answer.

Your proposal for a reburial of the hero Ali Abdel Latif in the Sudan is highly commendable. I do not think that the Ansars will like the idea of buring abid near al-Mahdi. I would rather suggest the ramins of the our hero be reburied alongside Garang in Juba

هو نموذج للخطاب الجنوبي الموجه للشمال ... أو للحوار الدائم بين أبناء الوطن الواحد باختلاف أصولهم أو مواطنهم داخل الوطن الكبير ... يتهمونا بالتعالي و يتسم خطابهم به دوما.. بحثت عن نصوصه لأقدمه كنموذج للإنسان المتوازن المتصالح من نفسه و أبناء شعبه .. فوجدت بعض كلماته و عباراته لاذعة و مستفزة... قلت لنفسي إن كان هذا هو عاقلهم ... فليت شعري كيف يكون مجنونهم.....؟؟؟؟؟

لأنهم يتدثرون بطبقة هشة من الثقافة و العقلانية و تحت هذه الطبقة تصطدم بكل تحجرات القبلية و الجهوية .

أما بخصوص أخانا شارلس ... فدعنى أبدأ بأن أشرح لك السبب الذى دعانى للمساهمة بهذا البوست .. و هو أنني و في أول إطلاع لي على مداخلاته .. رأيت ما كتبه تعليقا على ورقة الطيب مصطفى ... و قد أعجبت بحديثه عن نشأته وسط أهل الشمال في الأبيض .. و أحسست أنه رجل تجاوز مرارت و تراكمات العنصر و الجهة ليسمو بنفسه مع حلم غد أجمل ....و من هنا دلفت للبحث عن مساهمات أخرى بعد أن ألحت على فكرة البوست عنه... فكانت صدمتى في بعض و ليس كل ما كتب ... و رغم ذلك كتبت عنه بحب و احترام كبير ... فهو عندي لازال قلما معتدلا مقارنة مع ما نراه في منتديات أخرى لآخرين ...

أما حديثك عن مثقفي السودان خاصة الشماليين الذين وصفتهم بأنهم " يتدثرون بطبقة هشة من الثقافة و العقلانية" فأنني أجد حديثك لا يعدو أن يكون تعميما مخلا ، و لا أدرى أين تضع نفسك من هذا التصنيف الذي عممته على الناس ...

Thank you very much. I honestly do not deserve this profuse praise. I try always to be balanced, because that is the right road that can guide us to the unity of our country.
Presently and after the death of Dr. Garang, many southerners are not sure whether unity of Sudan is any longer a good idea. If Garang were alive many doubting southerners would have gone along with him. Garang had been the only southern leader that had totally convince the majority of southerners of the worth of unity. I had been among these southnerners, but now I am myself not sure if it is any longer a good idea to vote for unity.
You also made a correct observation about being cocky somtimes. My comment about the burial of the Great Hero Ali Abdel Latif was uncalled for. However, there is no love lost between me and the Umma Party members. I hold Umma responsible for the lost of democracy three times,1958,1969 , and 1989. During these periods Umma had been leading but had failed to pursue policies that would unite the country and preserve democracy.
