Long time ago I came across a beautiful short poem by the Ethiopian poet Solomon Deressa and it goes as follows: In a silence that soaked up time Like a fallen crump in the final drops of cream cafe Birds pass Under the majesty of the sky suns set and rise A young woman walks By the playing light against darkness And in silence birds pass.
I was deeply touched by the beauty and simplicity of the poem and I tried to translate it as follows:
I just want to enjoy its beauty with you. I love Ethiopia.
