Man sentenced to Amputation

The Sudan Supreme Court (criminal circuit) headed by Deputy Chief, Judge Mohammed Hamid Abu-sin, and Judges Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed, Dr Ibrahim Ahmed Osman, Abdulla al Fadil Lessa and Nuridin Ali Abdul Majeed as members, on November 12 dismissed the appeal of Joseph Garang and upheld his conviction and sentence.
Garang was arrested and charged by Police for stealing 488,000 Dinar from a business store in Kobar town. He was convicted by Khartoum Bahri-market criminal court on February 9 and sentenced to amputation of his right hand under Islamic law.
Mr Metiang Kowaj, Garang’s lawyer, asked the Supreme Court to drop or uphold the sentence because his client is a Christian South Sudanese who is supposed to be exempted from Islamic law, and the implication of (Hodood) on a Christian person violates article (125) of Sudan criminal code. The lower court had tried his client in the absence of his lawyers and convicted him on testimonies of policemen. Mr. Kowaj argued.
Judge Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed said the accused was convicted on Islamic “Hodood” which is the right of Allah “God” and not the plaintiff or the nation, thus no authority or individual can drop it.

الاخ دينق

هذة الاحكام نتيجة سريان قوانين حدود الشريعة،وهي دايما خطر محدق على الانسان مسلم او مسيحي او لا ديني،يجب التصدي لها وليس لاستثناء او حصرها على فئة دون الاخرى، بل بالغائها،واذا تم تنفيذ قطع اليد على هذا المواطن السوداني ستكون جريمة شنيعةضد كل المواثيق الانسانية، واذا كان هذا الحكم قد صدر في يناير فقد مر عليه قرابة الثلاثة شهور، فهل هنالك طريقة لمتابعة ما استجد ؟؟

في تقديري أن أي تغيير بدون إلغاء هذه القوانين في السودان لن يقدم كثيرا، إذا لم يؤخر..

متى يفهم السودانيون أن المطالبة بإلغاء هذه القوانين هي قربة دينية يتقربون بها إلى الله؟؟ لماذا هي قربة؟؟ لأنها نصرة للضعيف والمستضف.. قال تعالى: "وما لكم لا تقاتلون في سبيل الله والمستضعفين من الرجال والنساء والولدان الذين يقولون ربنا أخرجنا من هذه القرية الظالم أهلها واجعل لنا من لدنك وليا واجعل لنا من لدنك نصيرا؟؟"..
سلام على الأستاذ محمود الذي قال بهذه الحكمة وناضل سلميا من أجل المستضعفين، وعلّم الناس أن يناضلوا..
لن تقوم للسودان قائمة ما دامت هذه القوانين الشائهة مسلطة على رقاب المساكين.. لن تقوم للسودان قائمة ما دامت قوانينه تسمح وتحض وتغض الطرف عن انتهاك حقوق الإنسان فيه ..

هل تابعت يا مريود أخبار الإمام الجزائري، الفرنسي الجنسية، الذي أُخرج من فرنسا لأنه تحدث عن تأديب النساء وجلدهن؟؟
