اين موقع ديون السودان الحالية من مفاوضات السلام

اذا حصل ان انفصل جنوب السودان عن شماله بعد الفترة الانتقالية و صار دولة ذات سيادة مستقلة, اظن ان الدولة الجنوبية سوف تحمل اسم السودان الجديد كما هو معدا له و سوف تحمل الدولة الشمالية اسم السودان
انا لا اتمنى ذلك لكن فرضا لو حصل ذلك فعلى اي دولة تحسب ديون السودان الحالية هل تسددها دولة السودان ام دولة السودان الجديد ام يتم الدفع مناصفة ام تعفى الديون
انني محتار في هذا الامر لانني لا ارى موقعا لهذا الموضوع في مفاوضات السلام

Actually this is a very interesting point. Theoreticlly speaking should separation happens, each part will be responsible of the national debt according to a certain forumla. For example it can be done based on population and according to that the south will be burdened with the debt based on its percentile of the total country's population. I am quite sure the economist of all sides will be able to find the right formula for that. However, the likelihoods are that people in the south are going to argue that these debts never showed up in the southern parts and people of the south never made use of them and hence it is not their responsibility. Whether this arguement holds truth or not expect it to drummed alot.

Yeah but currently I doubt people are talking about separation. So the issue will not be put on the table for discussion. But is likely that it will come up sooner or later once separation becomes a reality. With the kind of government we have now I assure you all the bad things will happen and we peopel of the north will end up with all the debts.
