Foreigner: Molest an offence?
KUALA LUMPUR: A 23-year-old Sudanese student facing a molest charge claimed in a magistrate’s court yesterday that he did not know molest was an offence in this country.
Mr.X Y Z is accused of molesting a 20-year-old salesgirl on May 3 at the women’s toilet in Plaza Idaman, Setapak.
An officer from the Sudanese embassy acted as interpreter.
Magistrate Aizatul Akmal Maharani said bail would only be allowed on condition that it be in two Malaysian sureties.
