They are specialists in providing their services in post – conflict, remote and arduous environments.They offer support services to the UN, NGOs, Governments and the private sector around the world. Our client’s services comprise such diverse fields as camp services, catering, waste management, procurement, logistics, power generation, engineering and construction. Our Clients Head Office is in the United Arab Emirates and with locations in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. They are currently seeking an accomplished Civil Engeineer for the contract to be based in Sudan


Civil Engineer

Our client is now seeking an accomplished Civil Engineer to manage both major and minor works construction. This is a key role, broad in scope, participating in reconstruction projects in The Sudan. The work will be varied and includes all aspects of civil engineering and the oversight of all phases of assigned projects



Requirements:

The successful candidate will be suitably qualified with a proven ability to engineer a wide range of civil projects. with relevant minor and major works experience. Candidates should possess good project management skills and have a demonstrable track record in civil engineering within a construction environment. A minimum of 8 – 10 years experience in the relevant field including supervisory experience is required for this position

You will need to be PC / IT literate in Ms Office/Word/Excel/Ms Project or similar and be systems orientated with cost and budgetary experience

Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions. You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment

You should possess excellent communication skills in English and should be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines

A military background would be useful as would experience of working in arduous or remote environments



The employer offers:



The basic salary is around 8000 – 9000 US Dollars per month and is tax free. In addition there is a tax free bonus opportunity equal to around one month’s salary. Accommodation, transport and meals are provided free

The annual holiday entitlement is 56 days and the work rota is flexible. The minimum working period before a break can be taken is 38 days and the maximum period of working when a break must be taken is 115 days

In terms of return paid flights home employees have an annual “ kitty” which is worth 3.5 times the cost of a return paid flight to your home base
