حوالي 50 ألف مواطن حضروا ندوة الحركة الشعبية لتحرير السودان بالخرطوم الأربعاء 6/4/2005

أقام وفد الحركة الشعبية لتحرير السودان الذي يزور الخرطوم هذه الأيام ندوة عصر الأربعاء السادس من أبريل 2005 و إستمرت الندوة من الساعة الثالة ظهرا إلى الساعة السابعة مساء. أقيمت الليلة السياسية بالساحة الخضراء عند مدخل مدينة أركويت، التقديرات تؤكد أن الحضور فاق الخمسين ألف من المواطنين(50 ألف). تحدث في الندوة كل من جيمس وآني إيقا و عبد العزيز الحلو، ياسر سعيد عرمان، مالك عقار و ممثل عن إتحاد شباب السودان الجديد التنظيم الشبابي للحركة الشعبية لتحرير السودان.

تناول المتحدثون العديد من القضايا كالمهام التي آتى من أجلها الوفد إلى الخرطوم و المتمثلة في بناء الحركة الشعبية لتحرير السودان بشمال البلاد، كما تطرق المتحدثون إلى نيتهم في التشاور مع كل الأطراف فيما يتصل بقضايا إنفاذ الإتفاق، تكوين لجنة صياغة الدستور و ضرورة إيجاد حلول عادلة لقضية دارفور و الشرق كما شددوا على ضرورة المضي قدما في مفاوضات القاهرة. و تناول القائد عبد العزيز الحلو بالتحليل رؤية الحركة الشعبية عن السودان القديم و وصولها إلى طريق مسدود و تحدث طويلا عن مشروع بناء السودان الجديد

اعتقد يادكتوره ندي ان هذا الحضور الهائل يستوجب علي الحركه ان تتقدم شمالا اكثر واعتقد انه من الضروري ان لا يحرم وفد الحركه المدن الكبيره والمناطق الاخري من لقاءاته الجماهيريه. واضح ان الحركه لها قبول واسع الان في الشارع ومن الضروري ان تضبط ايقاع حركتها وتحافظ علي الريزم. لذلك من الضروري ان يحاول الوفد كل جهده الوصول الي الجماهير ما استطاع الي ذلك سبيلا!

يبدوا ان ملامح السودان الجديد بدات ترتسم واعتقد ان الخطه المدروسه التي تتحرك بها قيادة الحركه تؤتي أكلها ولكن من الضروري الحفاظ علي المومنتم!

واضح ان وفد الحركه يحاول ما استطاع التقريب بين القوي المختلفه لازالة الشكوك. سعدت جدا لنجاح الوفد في كسر الجمود والاحتقان بين المؤتمر الشعبي والمؤتمر الوطني لانني اعلم ان درجة انعدام الثقه بين هذين القوتين اصبحت كبيره ولا اعتقد انه من السهل كسرها، ولكن يبدوا ان ارادة وفد الحركه وثقة الطرفين فيه مكنته من احداث اختراق مهم نحو توحيد الجبهه الداخليه ولم شمل القوي السودانيه المشتته.
طريقة معالجة وفد الحركه للقضايا الشائكه تبدوا متزنه واعتقد ان الاحتقان الراهن بين حزب الامه والحكومه سيزول عاجلا فقط لو فهم حزب الامه أن هنالك 19 عاما مضت بين 1986 و2005. كما ان الظرف الحرج الذي تمر به البلاد يحتم علي الجميع بما فيهم المؤتمر الوطني الاتجاه نحو الموضوعيه والنظر للامام اذ لم يعد هنالك شك ان الانقاذ اصبحت في زمة التاريخ وانه يتوجب علي المؤتمر الوطني ( كحزب سياسي) البحث عن مخرج مع الاخرين للخروج من ( عاتيات الرياح),

لك التحية مجددا. أنا أعتقد أن الطريقة التي تتبعها الحركة الشعبية لمعالجة القضايا متوازنة و وافقعية جدا أو كما قلت أنت "متزنة"، ما يؤكد المذهب الشامل في الطرح الذي قدمه المتحدثون في الندوة موضوع الخبر. فالأطراف الساسية السودانية الآن عليها أن تتشاور بجدية حول المحاور التي طرحتها الحركة الشعبية و هي كما يلي:

أولا:ضرورة أتفاق الأطراف كلها على بدء إنفاذ إتفاق السلام الموقع في 9 يناير 2005م.
ثانيا:ضرورة إتفاق الأطراف على صيغة تكوين لجنة صياغة الدستور كيما تبدأ أعمالهاحيث و حسب الإتفاق "أن كنا نود تنفيذه حقيقة" ينص على ضررورة أن يكون لنا دستورا خلال الفترة الإنتقالية الأولى.
ثالثا: ضرورة الحل العادل لقضيتي دارفور و الشرق
رابعا: إستئناف مفاوضات القاهرة بين الحكومة و التجمع

هذه المطالب الأربعة لا تتعامى بالضررورة عن الظرف الدولي الضاغط في إتجاه حل قضية دارفور حسبما نص القرار 1593.

أعتقد أن هذه محاور واقعية بحلها يمكن أن يتأسس واقعا جيدا، و واقعية هذه القضايا تكمن في إمكانية تحقق حلها.

أعتقد أن المقترحات التي تناولها متحدثو الحركة الشعبية لتحرير السودان في الندوة الأخيرة تمثل ملامح الأزمة السياسية الحالية برسم أبعادها الرئيسية. برنامج العمل أعتقد يعني رؤية لحل القضايا المؤشر عليها. الجميع بمن فيهم الحركة الشعبية و خوفا على إتفاقاتهم أو مفاوضاتهم مع الحكومة يتفادون إبداء الرأي الواضح حول القرار 1593 و الذي لا يشكل جوهر هذه الأزمة السياسية الراهنة و حسب و إنما يفتح الأفق واسعا للحوار حول مستقبل البلاد الديمقراطي و العلماني و على النحو الذي قرأت به مساعمتك في بوست الأخ العزيز ياسر الشريف، فمن هنا هي قضية أكبر من أن يتم تفاديها و لو من باب التكتيك السياسي. محاور الحركة الشعبية المقترحة للنقاش مع الأطراف أشارت إلى القرار 1593 إشارة ضمنية في سياق الحل العادل لقضيتي دارفور و الشرق، "أتصور" هذا لا يكفي لابد من إعلانها صراحة و لتفهم "الجبهة الإسلامية" وحدها في هذا الخندق أمام الأسرة الدولية و لن تضار إتفاقات السلام طالما هي محروسة بالمجتمع الدولي... أرى ذلك.

Overview
Recent estimates of the total number of deaths from the conflict in Darfur are as high as 300,000 - with another 200,000 Sudanese having fled to Chad as refugees. More than 2.4 million people in the Darfur region of Northern Sudan are directly affected by continued fighting, homeless and vulnerable to hunger, weather and violence.
In 2004, Mercy Corps’ Global Emergency Operations (GEO) team began operating in Darfur. In the past several months, Mercy Corps has established a vibrant program. The agency currently has three operational offices and over 70 committed staff who are striving to save lives and alleviate suffering by providing essential humanitarian assistance in the Zalingei corridor to approximately 90,000 internally displaced Sudanese.
Mercy Corps is currently implementing activities to the areas of sanitation, distribution and protection.
Programs in Focus
Sanitation
Mercy Corps is constructing hundreds of much-needed latrines in Zalingei camps while simultaneously conducting a grassroots hygiene and health education campaign through volunteers and community leaders. In addition, Mercy Corps is conducting other water and sanitation activities including animal waste removal and vector control inside the camps.
Mercy Corps staff are working with residents to drain pools of standing water near drinking water sources to reduce mosquito breeding grounds, and are providing separate drinking troughs for animals to prevent them from defecating in areas where people stand to collect their drinking water. Volunteer Hygiene Promoters organize and disseminate important health promotion messages to residents in the camps, and work with residents to ensure that sanitation needs are being met. These efforts are targeted at preventing the spread of infectious diseases such as cholera and malaria, which currently account for about 15 percent of the mortalities in Darfur.
Distribution
Mercy Corps continues to provide essential non-food items such as blankets, cooking pots and utensils, soap, straw mats and mattresses. Approximately 10,000 hygiene kits, 16,000 blankets, 15,000 kitchen sets and floor mats have been distributed. Mosquito nets will be distributed prior to the rainy season, which begins mid-summer. Over 20,000 internally-displaced persons (IDPs) have benefited from the plastic sheeting that Mercy Corps distributed to ######### of households which they in turn use to cover their families’ temporary shelters.
Protection
One of Mercy Corps’ efforts in protection has been supporting the training of trainers to teach women how to build and utilize fuel efficient cooking stoves in the Zalingei camps. This project aims to reduce the amount of time that women spend beyond the camp perimeter gathering cooking fuel, as women are routinely attacked and raped while gathering wood outside of the camps.
The project teaches women how to make stoves from locally-available materials. These stoves are around three times as efficient as traditional stoves, allowing users to cook for three weeks with the amount of fuel that a traditional stove would use in one week. This low input, high impact project addresses several of the key issues of the crisis in Darfur.
Children’s Psychosocial Program
In March 2005, Mercy Corps began implementing a project with the goal of improving the psychosocial well-being of children, youth and vulnerable women in two IDP camps where Mercy Corps is currently providing critical assistance. The privately-funded project will engage women living in these camps to share their skills and crafts with vulnerable youth through one-on-one mentoring programs. Other major activities will focus on building the capacity of community leaders to recognize and facilitate recreational and social activities, and provide each block of both camps with safe spaces to host these activities and grounds designated for youth sports activities.
