Upcoming event

February 5-6
A CALL TO ACTION FOR DARFUR, SUDAN: National Leadership Conference for University Students. 400 student leaders from over 90 schools will come together in Washington, D.C. next weekend to learn more about raising awareness of and promoting action to stop the ongoing genocide in Darfur. They will network with one another and develop plans of action to take on their campuses. The Conference is currently full, but look for updates in our upcoming newsletters.

February
A coalition of Stanford human rights and community service groups is planning to hold a week-long event in February for Darfur. It will feature an arts performance, a documentary screening, a speaker, and a teach-in about Darfur and human rights activism. All proceeds will go to Doctors Without Borders. For more information, please contact Nikki Serapio.

February 11
Mamaroneck High School in Larchmont, New York, will be holding “Jam for Sudan,” a concert with “peaceful” music, photographs, fact sheets, articles, green ribbons, and food. The Concert will take place from 6-10 p.m. in McLean Auditorium and will be $5 for admission. For details, contact Kathleen Carroll.

February 15
11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
California State Polytechnic Univeristy, Pomona, will hold a die-in. For more information, contact Amy Tan.

February 27

April 20
Cornell STARS will be hosting a lecture by Paul Rusesabagina, the Rwandan hero portrayed by Don Cheadle in Hotel Rwanda. More details coming soon.

Posters from the Committee on Conscience
The Committee on Conscience has created posters for students to use on campus to raise awareness of the genocide in Darfur. Use the posters at any of your events or as an alert to be hung in a prominent place on campus. These posters are free of charge, but are only available while supplies last.
