يحتفل العالم في الثالث عشر من سبتمبر من كل عام باليوم الدولي للقانون،فلو عدنا لأصل كلمة"قانون"فهي مأخوذة من الكلمة اليونانية "كانون" والتي تعني عصا مستقيمة، تحقيق النزاهة والانضباط من أجل الصالح العام، وبطبيعة الحال فإن من أهم أساسيات ممارسة أي مهنة هو التعرف على قوانينها وتجنب مخالفتها. فالهدف من القانون هو الاعتراف بالقانون الدولي وتعزيز السلام والعدالة وحقوق الانسان في المجتمع العالمي.
حيث تم إعلان أول يوم عالمي للقانون في جميع أنحاء العالم في 13 سبتمبر 1965 خلال افتتاح مؤتمر “السلام العالمي من خلال القانون”، في العاصمة الأمريكية واشنطن والذي حضره 3200 شخص من 121 دولة بهدف لفت انتباه الشعوب لأهمية دور القانون والحفظ على السلام والأمن والنظام، وتأسيساً لمبدأ الحرية والحفاظ عليها.،وتمت رعاية الاحتفالات المناسبة من قبل نقابات المحامين، وكليات الحقوق، والمنظمات القانونية، والمسؤولين القضائيين وغيرهم من المجموعات الخاصة والعامة في كل جزء من العالم،وصدرت إعلانات يوم القانون العالمي من قبل رؤساء الدول والمسؤولين المدنيين والهيئات التشريعية منكافة مستويات الحكومة، وقد تم اعتماد قرارات خاصة من قبل المجموعات العامة والخاصة تدعو إلى تطوير واستخدام قواعد القانون الدولي والمؤسسات القانونية لحل القضايا المتعلقة بالقانون الدولي.
فهذا اليوم المميز يساهم في زيادة الوعي لدى الأفراد بحقوقهم وحرياتهم الفردية المنصوص عليها في القوانين والمواثيق الدولية والوطنية،ويحفز الأفراد على الاطلاع على القوانين والمعاهدات والوثائق ذات الصلة لفهم حقوقهم وكيفية الدفاع عنها.
كما يحث اليوم العالمي للقانون الأفراد على المشاركة المدنية والمشاركة الفعالة في العملية القانونيةويُشجع الأفراد على التعرف على كيفية مشاركتهم في صنع القرار والمساهمة في تحسين القوانين والنظم القانونية من خلال الحوار والنقاش والمشاركة في العمل العام.
وهو بمثابة شعلة إلهاملهم لممارسة حقوقهم وحرياتهم الفردية في القوانين،ويشجعهم على الاستفادة من الحقوق المدنية والسياسية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية التي تضمنها القوانين للمطالبة بالعدالة والمساواة.
ويشجع اليوم العالمي للقانون الأفراد على المشاركة في الأنشطة والمناقشات الاجتماعية المتعلقة بالقانون والعدالة حيث يمكن للأفراد المشاركة في مناقشات المجتمع المدني والمنتديات العامة والأحداث القانونية للتبادل والتعلم من الآخرين وتعزيز الوعي القانوني.
وهو يدفع الأفراد إلى التفكير في الانتهاكات المحتملة لحقوقهم وحرياتهم الفردية والبحث عن سبل حمايتها واللجوء إلى الآليات القانونية المتاحة للحصول على العدالة.
ويوفر يوم القانون العالمي فرصة لتثقيف الأفراد حول حقوقهم وحرياتهم القانونيةمن خلال زيادة الوعي والمعرفة بالأطر القانونية وصكوك حقوق الإنسانحيث يتمكن الناس من ممارسة حقوقهم بشكل أكثر فعالية وثقة. مما يؤدي بالنتيجة إلى مواطنين أكثر استنارة ومشاركة.
وغالبًا ما يركز يوم القانون العالمي على تعزيز العدالة الاجتماعية والمساواة، ويشجع الأفراد على التفكير في أهمية الحماية المتساوية بموجب القانون والنظر في القضايا المختلفة مثل التمييز، والوصول إلى العدالة، والمجتمعات المهمشة،فمن خلال تسليط الضوء على هذه القضايا، يعزز يوم القانون العالمي الشعور بالتعاطف والتضامن بين الأفراد ويعزز الجهود الرامية إلى معالجة عدم المساواة المنهجية.
كما انه يعزز الوعي بالحقوقوالحريات الفردية ويحث الأفراد على المشاركة الفعالة في العملية القانونية والنضال من أجل العدالة والمساواة، ويعد يوم القانون العالمي مثابة منصة لتشجيع الأفراد على التفكير النقدي في حقوقهم وحرياتهم والمشاركة في مناقشات هادفةواتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة لتعزيز العدالة والمساواة وسيادة القانون في مجتمعاتهم وخارجها، ويهدف إلى إنشاء مجتمع أكثر عدلاً وشمولاً حيث يتم احترام وحماية حقوق الجميع.

The world celebrates the International Day of Law on the thirteenth of September of each year, and it is worth noting that the word law is taken from the Greek word cannon, which means straight stick. The aim of the law is to achieve integrity and discipline for the common good, Of course, one of the most important basics of practicing any profession is to know its laws and avoid violating them.
The first worldwide World Law Day was proclaimed on September 13, 1965 on the opening day of the Washington World Conference on World Peace through Law which was attended by 3,200 people from 121 countries. The appropriate celebrations were sponsored by bar associations, law schools, legal organizations, judicial officials and other private and public groups in every part of the world. World Law Day declarations were issued by ######### of state, civil servants and legislatures at every level of government, and special resolutions were adopted by public and private groups calling for the development and use of international law rules and legal institutions to resolve issues related to international law.
This special day can contribute to raising awareness among individuals of their individual rights and freedoms stipulated in international and national laws and conventions, It may motivate individuals to read relevant laws, treaties and documents to understand their rights and how to defend them.
World Law Day also urges individuals to engage civic and actively participate in the legal process. Encourages individuals to learn how they participate in decision-making and contribute to the improvement of laws and legal systems through dialogue, debate, and participation in public action.
It serves as a torch of inspiration for individuals to exercise their individual rights and freedoms implicit in laws. It may encourage them to take advantage of the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights guaranteed by laws to demand justice and equality and to realize their ambitions.
World Law Day encourages individuals to participate in social activities and discussions related to law and justice. Where individuals can participate in civil society discussions, public forums and legal events to exchange, learn from others and promote legal awareness.
It prompts individuals to reflect on possible violations of their individual rights and freedoms, to seek ways to protect them and to resort to available legal mechanisms to obtain justice.
World Law Day provides an opportunity to educate individuals about their legal rights and freedoms,By increasing awareness and knowledge of legal frameworks and human rights instruments, people are empowered to exercise their rights more effectively and confidently. This can lead to more informed and engaged citizens.
World Law Day often focuses on promoting social justice and equality. It encourages individuals to reflect on the importance of equal protection under the law and to consider issues such as discrimination, access to justice, and marginalized communities. By highlighting these issues, World Law Day fosters a sense of empathy and solidarity among individuals and reinforces efforts to address systemic inequality.
More explicitly, World Law Day and similar occasions promote awareness of individual rights and freedoms and urge individuals to actively participate in the legal process and fight for justice and equality. World Law Day serves as a platform to encourage individuals to think critically about their rights and freedoms, engage in meaningful discussions, and take action to promote justice, equality and the rule of law in their societies and beyond. It aims to create a more just and inclusive society where the rights of all are respected and protected.
