Kilian Cusack
Kilian Cusack Noone is suggesting they cannot be proud of their African heritage and that should be celebrated. But they are French!

Why does the USA insist of the term African American instead of just calling its people American؟ Purely based off skin colour. They have been living in the Americas for 400 plus years and have zero connection with Africa. Like do they speak Afrikaans or Swahili؟ What tribe or nation are they from؟ At this point they are purely American. Stop being so superficial

Chelsea Parten
Chelsea Parten The joke about “Africa won the World Cup” was not to take away from the “Frenchness” of the players but to highlight why so many people of African descent around the world, regardless of nationality, were rooting for and celebrating with the French team’s victory, and it wasn’t because they were French. It’s because they are of predominantly African heritage and they were celebrating seeing someone like them winning such a prestigious tournament on the world stage.
