What: Join the Darfur Interfaith Network (DIN), United To End Genocide and concerned citizens for our third annual Hope for Darfur/Justice in Sudan Rally, to call attention to the continuing plight of innocent citizens in Darfur, Abyei, Nuba Mtns, Blue Nile, Beja and Nubia and the need for justice and peace in all Sudan.
Where: The march will start at the Metropolitan AME Church, 1518 M Street, N.W., and proceed to the White House at Lafayette Park. In case of inclement weather, the rally will remain at Metropolitan AME Church.
WHY: To shine a spotlight on the continuing violence in many target regions of Sudan to let them know they are not alone or forgotten. Also, to raise money for a new kitchen for a school in Turalie, South Sudan so they will continue to qualify to receive food from the World Food Program which would provide for a daily nutritious meal for the students, probably their only meal of the day.
