At the Crossroads:
An evening celebrating music and poetry of Sudan
As Sudan braces itself for the January 9th referendum which could split the largest country in Africa into two independent states, St Ethelburga's Centre for Peace and Reconciliation is organising a Sudanese music and poetry night in celebration of reconciliation, peace and cultural diversity. Scheduled for the evening of Friday 3rd of December the event brings together musicians and poetry from both Southern and Northern Sudan in what we hope will not be the last "Sudanese" party in London ever.
Organised in collaboration with the Sudanese group Open Themes the event includes performances from:
• GISMUK (Group of International Sudanese Music UK) GISMUK brings together a group of highly talented musicians who have been performing for the last 5 years offering concerts to the politically and ethnically diverse Sudanese community in the UK. They will be playing will adapted pieces of music originating from traditional songs from various parts of Sudan.
• Abung Ani and Anyuan Mou, a female duo with captivating and powerful voices who will be singing/ reciting traditional Dinka Kib on varied themes such as John Garang de Mabior , love, work, matchmaking, beautiful cattle and everyday chores and small delights.
• Sarah Maguire will read translated poetry of Sadiq Al-Radi, along the original Arabic work of this leading Sudanese poet.

Public Transport: The Centre is five minutes walk of both Bank and Liverpool Street stations. Buses no 8, 26, 35, 47, 48, 149, 242, 344, and 388 stop outside the door.
By Car: Parking is difficult near the Centre. If you want to use a car the nearest car park is the NCP - London Rodwell House in Strype Street, London E1 7LF (020 7247 7923).

حفل سوداني للموسيقى والشعر في لندن أمسية الجمعة الثالث من ديسمبر

تستبق مجموعة "أجندة مفتوحة" استفتاء يناير حول مصير جنوب السودان بإقامة حفل للموسيقى والشعر في لندن
يشارك فيه مبدعون من شمال البلاد وجنوبها يوم الجمعة الثالث من ديسمبر احتفاء بالتعددية ودعما للسلام.

وتشارك في الحفل مجموعة الموسيقى السودانية العالمية التي تضم نخبة من أميز العازفين المتخصصيين بعزف
مقاطع موسيقية من شتى أنحاء البلاد وتقدم الفنانتان بونغ آني وأنيوان مو مقاطع لأغنيات دينكاوية. كما يشتمل
الحفل على قراءة شعرية لقصيدة للصادق الرضي مع ترجمة لها تقدمها سارة ماكواير.

يقام الحفل في مركز إيثربيرغا للسلام الذي يستقبل الرواد من السابعة إلا ربعا ويستمر حتى العاشرة والربع مساء.
سعر التذكرة عشرة جنيهات في حال شرائها مسبقا من أجندة مفتوحة و12 جنيها عند شرائها من المركز يوم الحفل.
