اعلاه طمبور من عام 1917 فى متحف اكسفورد و هو من الات قبيلة الزاندى. لا علم لى بوجود نفس الالة الموسيقية فى الشرق الاوسط فهل هى الة افريقية و تم تعريبها أم العكس؟؟

. Dear Mohamed, Sorry for replying in English as I don't have an arabic keyboard and I find using the on screen keyboard tedious. The name of the instrument in English is Lyre, and the oldest documentation of one is in Crete (albeit not necessarily the oldest as African documentation is poor) I was working in the Upper nile state and I know of an area known as Leri or Leer, an area dominated by Nuer who are quite talented in playing the intrument, and it is still quite popular there, although it has been adapted slightly using oil cans. I hope some of our brethren from the area further enlighten us. Thanks for passing by .
