Quote: SRS - Sudan Radio Service - Nairobi Sudan Is Better Divided Than United, Says Political Analyst 6 July 2010 - (Asmara, Eritrea) – As the referendum nears, a Sudanese political analyst says that a peaceful but divided Sudan is better than a troubled united Sudan. Doctor Taisier Mohamed Ahmed, the Director of the Asmara-based Peace-building Centre for the Horn of Africa (PCHA) spoke to SRS on Monday from Asmara. [Taisier Mohamed Ahmed]: “It is better that we have one, two, three or four Sudans living in peace, than living in a united Sudan that has been destroying itself for sixty years, killing its youth and missing the development opportunities for its people. This has been my vision for the last twenty years ago and it hasn’t changed. People look at it as a purely emotional issue as if Sudan is a piece of land people inherited from their ancestors and they don’t want to divide this land. This is a very narrow vision and it is one of the problems of Sudan.” Ahmed also described the remaining period before the referendum as the toughest time in Sudan’s political history. He is convinced that the NCP intends to disrupt the exercise. [Taisier Mohamed Ahmed]: “I think that we will pass through very difficult moments during the coming months, if only for one reason, that the NCP might hinder the conduct of the referendum, or the NCP will allow it to take place after they are very sure that the same thing which happened during the elections will be repeated, the extensive rigging. I really want the referendum to take place as scheduled; however I am always worried about the levels of corruption and the huge overspending on the tools of suppression and war by Khartoum. دولة المواطنة أنجع الحلول لاشكالية السودان
ولكن التدين المنقوص والهوس صور للناس أن
ما جرى ويجرى بأسم الدين من فساد واستبداد

الارض لا تكفي لخلق وحدة وانما تكون احيانا سببا لخلق نزاعات في غياب "قانون عادل" وهو "الدستور " الذي بجمع كل سكان هذه الارض او اصحابها لتحقيق هدف واحد هو نما وازدهار الارض ومن عليها ... مثل ذلك "قانون عادل/دستور" هو الهوية التي ستجمع الناس اصحاب الارض او الذين يعيشون عليها
