Respected Secretary-General, António Guterres,

We, in the Sudanese Front for Change, are monitoring very closely the current popular uprising in Sudan, which broke out on 19th of December 2018. The sole reason of this uprising, is the undeclared famine in the country. We cite the report of the World Food Programme that states “Approximately 5.5 million people were food insecure in early 2018 - up from 3.8 million in 2017.” http://www1.wfp.org/countries/sudanhttp://www1.wfp.org/countries/sudan.
Due entirely to the failure of this Sudanese government to manage the superabundant natural resources to secure lives of its own people, the country is on the brink of total collapse. Since it usurped political power by means of military coup in June 1989, the regime has continued menacingly engineering deadly crises for three decades. As a result, all aspects of human life all across the country have steadily worsened. In the field of continuous security deterioration, it is worth to mention that the UN Security Council has passed 55 resolutions on Sudan in the period from 1996 to 2014, the first in the era of this government was (UNSC Resolution 1044 of January 31st 1996) and the latest resolution was (UNSC Resolution 2138 of February 13th 2014).
This time the popular uprising initially erupted out from the regions, which is a clear indication that the whole nation have had enough of this government. In fact, almost all cities and towns of the country are rising up against the regime. The response of the government as usual has been such a brutal one, resulting in tens of deaths and other casualties are reported in addition to detainees.
The present security situation, which is based on live reports from the scene, is extremely likely that the government will use all kinds of weapons for its own survival – the government is in the position of an injured lion – here we are referring to thousands of low rank members of the National Congress Party (NCP), who have all got access to firearms, then the world will witness another horrific death toll. Bear in mind the population of Sudan had exceeded 40 million, the diversity of ethnic composition is over hundred groups, the existing tribal conflicts that was engineered by the NCP in vast areas of the county, all suggest that the calamity will be massive human catastrophe.
Therefore, we appeal to the international community to stand firmly with its pledge not to allow another Rwanda occur in any part of the world.

Yours Truly
