Dear Bakri
Greetings from Beirut
Allow me first to thank Sudaneseonline on its focuses on the plight of the Sudanese in Lebanon.

The good thing now, Sudanese people start to organize themselves here in Lebanon, speak out, and demand an immediate action by the Lebanese and Sudanese authorities, with some support from the Lebanese progressive forces, and some Shiite organizations. Some Lebanese newspapers like AS- Safir, and Al- Akhbar are siding with the plight of the Sudanese workers. Infact some Lebanese in the ####e enclave of Al- Awzai defended the Sudanese against the brutal attack by the police in June 6th. To tell you the truth as a Sudanese who lives in Lebanon now. Most of Sudanese workers here need a concrete action to legalize their residency, lower the hefty residency fees from $1000/year to $50/ year like the treatment of the workers from Egypt. treated just like the Egyptian workers . They also need a strong intervention by the Sudanese embassy, and the government to negotiate labor contracts with Lebanon to provide services in hotels, and companies. They also need a presence of an effective and efficient Labor attache to follow their working issues. In general, we don't want rhetoric, and demonizing of the entire Lebanese society, we want to restore the dignity of the Sudanese, provide secure jobs for them in Lebanon and labor contracts, and end the police brutality, and punish the people who have committed the atrocity in Al- Awzai .We also want an immediate and unconditional release of all Sudanese prisoners in Lebanese jails. We should work hand in hand with the Lebanese patriotic forces to help ending discrimination, and unlawful labor practices in Lebanon against Sudanese workers in Lebanon. I am sure you are familiar now with the strong stand of the Progressive Socialist Party. Party of God, the Lebanese Communist Party, and some human rights groups inside Lebanon . Sudanese media should also shed lights on the plight of the Sudanese in Lebanon, and take strong stand . Finally, the current crisis shows the weak, and indifferent role of the Sudanese embassy in Lebanon. Sudanese Ministry of Foreign affairs should follow the situation in Lebanon carefully ,and take strong actions, including a formal protest to the government of Lebanon, and a formal demand for an investigation in the criminal activities by the Lebanese police in Al- Awzai's incident, and the mistreatment of more than 200 Sudanese in Lebanese jails. Sudanese government should intervene to defend the rights of the Sudanese workers in Lebanon not to defend the action by the Lebanese authorities by repeating the false claims that the people who were arrested in Al- Awzai's incident were illegal workers. I hope you include some of my suggestions in any actions, and demands would be taken
the demonstrators in Khartoum.

Regards

Abu Marwan

Dear Abu Marwan

sorry to tell you this is totally rejected move and very dangerous one.. we should never ever
accept any partisan help in Lebanon because first, this is an interference in their internal
affairs, second we know how the Lebanese politics are complex and accepting help specially from
one party means you are siding with that party against their rivals.. if the other side don't hurt you
today they will do tomorrow when they clash again.. if you accept help from a party today then they will expect
your help against their fellow Lebanese tomorrow

Why don't you just go the normal venues as forigners who should only deal with the government and it's legal system

you a forigner in Lebanon, you are not a Lebanese citizen to talk to or solicit help from political parties there

Mr. Mazin
all right, let them stand by forign workers rights and gain politically, but this is none of
our business as sudanese and forigners who should only deal with govrenment aparatus, I think
you lost my point

Also with all due respect to your person, but this is non-sense and ucalled for, just search in the postings of this issue only and you will see my stance against the brutality
of the Lebanese police and the nonsesne talk of the naieve Lebanese Ambasador in Khartoum when he tried to play on the internal
Sudanese politics as well when he mentioned the presidant and Mr. Ismail

Dear All ...
I don’t mind the fact that our Sudanese brothers in Lebanon are taking some actions and initiatives inside Lebanon with some of Lebanese entities , but looking at this aligned with what we done today in Khartoum ,we can come out with a result that we became dedicated towards Lebanese and Lebanon only , but what is mostly required now is to give the government of Sudan some of the hard times ,why don’t we – next time – in case of the coming days show no response nor progress in the case , to go directly to the ministry of the foreign affairs ??!! Why don’t we ?

The government can't take such step coz they lack the moral grounds to condemn the brutality of others due to the shameful record of their own security apparatus against their own citizen

The above quote shows obviously that the Sudanese in Lebanon are not treated equally by the Lebanese government. What make the government charges the Sudanese $1000 a year while the other workers from other are Arab countries are charged $50 …. !!!!! What a deal …..!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree , but i am counting on the pressure which we can put on their neck ,if it became clear to our miserable government that we Do wait for an action from their side toward this or otherwise bad things will happen , then , they will do something and i know it will be for the sake of benefits only , in a way where they will take advantages of the case i mean... but as for now ,we need an action ! MR.Abureesh

those refugees didn't seek the help of the Lebanese opposition parties nor did they went to the Lebanese dailies - the police brutality against the Sudanese refugees and party attenders is no longer a news in the whole world let alone in Lebanon!

Any Idea about what is the cost of renewing the residential permit for Lebanese in Sudan

It will be shame if they do not pay a single pound

This unfair treatment worthy our attention and consideration, but it requires strong support from the State and the Embassy of Sudan in Lebanon
The support of Lebanon’s parties and organizations is desirable in this case
