Quote: Dr Mustafa reaffirms misunderstanding with Carter Centre overcome Khartoum, April 6 (SUNA)- The Advisor of the President of the Republic, Dr Mustafa Osman Ismail, has stressed Sudan's confidence in the Carter Centre which is currently in Sudan as an observer for the elections The Advisor has commended the Centre as a highly competent and a recognized neutral body He pointed out in the press briefing he gave at the Sudanese Journalist Union headquarters forum that this centre was the one that supervised the elections in Palestine Dr Mustafa said the misunderstanding between us and the Centre has now been overcome after the clarifications we received from the centre and we now have full confidence in the centre and in its neutrality He explained that the president of the Republic himself took the initiative and invited the carter Centre to come and be an observer of the elections and that the president has commended former US President Jimmy Carter and his efforts in this field and in other fields in the country including the heath and humanitarian domain

Quote: الخرطوم في 6/4 (سونا) - أكد مستشار رئيس الجمهورية الدكتور مصطفى عثمان اسماعيل ثقة السودان في مركز كارتر الذي يوجد حاليا في السودان كمراقب للانتخابات وقد أشاد المستشار بالمركز باعتبار ان لديه درجة عالية من الكفاءة وهيئة محايدة معترف بها وأوضح في مؤتمر صحافي فى المنتدى الصحافي السوداني ان هذا المركز هو الذي أشرف على الانتخابات في فلسطين وقال الدكتور مصطفى سوء الفهم بيننا وبين المركز والآن تم التغلب عليه بعد التوضيحات التي حصلنا عليها من المركز ، والآن لدينا ثقة كاملة في حيادها واوضح ان رئيس الجمهورية نفسه اتخذ المبادرة ودعا مركز كارتر إلى أن يأتي ويكون مراقبا للانتخابات وان الرئيس أثنى على الرئيس الأميركي السابق جيمي كارتر وجهوده في هذا المجال وفي مجالات أخرى في البلد بما في ذلك الصحية والإنسانية
