Official Site - The Legatum Prosperity Index is the world's only global assessment of wealth and wellbeing; unlike other studies that rank countries by actual levels of wealth, life satisfaction or development, the Prosperity Index produces rankings based upon the very foundations of prosperity – those factors that help drive economic growth and produce happy citizens over the long term.

Where's Luxembourg, one of the richest country in the world?

Raz Saim, slovenia said on the 27th October 2009: Respond

probably these mean nothing at all. prosperity is as individually driven as it is environmental and situational. these are more a reflection of media positioning (for the countries in the negative) and state sponsoring. I am from slovenia and to put Slovenia so high is ridiculous - for those who have travelled to or lived there. similarly i travel for businesss to india. india at 44 with tremendous poverty and extremely widespread poverty at 44 is also questionable. And to equate Russia with Turkey - PLEEEEEEEZ visit these countries and travel across - not just what metrics tell you.

MEMENTO, San Francisco said on the 27th October 2009: Respond

Where is Lithuania? It's bigger than Estonia and Latvia together, but I haven't find it in that list.

Richard, US said on the 27th October 2009: Respond

Was this just a sample? Because Malawi a small country in the southern part of africa does not appear here. Yet some have said it has been doing well.
