الأثنية والإيديولجية ليست سببان أساسيان فى جرائم الحرب: الرئيس البشير وموغابى مثالان.
دأب الكثيرون إلى تصوير الحرب بأن سببها الأساسى هو أن المجموعات التى تنتمى للأثنية العربية هى التى تقتل الأثنيات الزنجية .. أو فى جانب أخر المسلمون يقتلون المسيحيين. هذين السببين يمثلان ويستأثران بنصيب الأسد من جملة أسباب الصراع فى السودان (دارفور مثال). وحتى ندحض تلك الفرية نأخذ الرئيس البشير والرئيس روبرت موغابى وقد أرتكبت قوات كليهما فظائع حرب ضد الأفارقة ولنرى هل أثنية موغابى الأفريقية منعته من قتل الأفارقة أبناء جلدته أو ديانته المسيحية منعته من قتل الأفارقة المسيحيين! فى المقابل هل ديانة الرئيس البشير الأسلامية منعته من قتل أهل دارفور المسلمين! ويمكننا أن نأتى بسيرة الدكتاتور إيادى ماه رئيس ليبيريا السابق والدكتاتور منقستو هايلى ماريم والدكتاتور موبوتو سيسى سيكو وغيرهم لنكتشف جليا أن الأثنية أو الإيدولوجيا ليست هى سبب للحرب وإرتكاب الفظائع فى السودان.

ولكن لكى تثير ثائرت المهمشين كان لابد من إيجاد أسلوب لتحريك مشاعر الغلابة الأفارقة بأن العرب يؤتمرون ضدهم وأن المسلمين يريدون أسلمة الوثنيين قسرا -- كل تلك أكاذبي يجب دحضها وثبيت حقيقة أن البقاء فى كرسى السلطة ضد رغبة الشعب يتطلب القهر لإسكاتهم وتكميم أفواههم.
