Khartoum - At least 15 people were killed, most of them university students, and 28 injured when a train derailed in western Sudan, a report said on Monday.
Twenty carriages of the train came off the rails near Al-Foula in South Kordofan early on Sunday while most of the passengers were sleeping, the Al-Ray al-Am daily said.
The dead include 13 students from Kordofan University, the paper said, with the authorities excluding sabotage as the cause of the crash.
Sudan has an extensive rail network, much of it built by the British former colonial power, but most of the rolling stock is old. -
