The Strifefor Democracy And Constitutionalism in post Neifaha Sudan
Dr. Ahmed Akasha Ahmed Fadlalla

Sudanese Liberals are required to synthesize future Sudanese politics as practically any other political movement in Sudan shied away from suffrage, democratic rights and freedom sas well as from constitutionalism.

Also there is ambivalence in the peace accords regarding the democratic rights of the sudanese citizens.

What in fact the agreements that were reached by Taha and his dear friend Garaang, have achieved is that politics were turned into the province of armed politcal movements- Albashir and Garang under arms supporters.

Girded political forces - the dictators, muslim revivalist igeologues and insur rectionists{E.G Albashir, Taha and Garaang} contended for power for a protracted period in post Numiery Sudan..and continue to contend for absolute mastery.

Obviously, there remains the need to reconstruct sudanese politics and create cognet democratic rule.

In doing so liberals can draw on the powerful notions such as multiparty democracy, representative government, parlimentarianis, independent judiciary, division of public political power, basic rights and freedom sand universal human rights.

Active propagation of the ideas will prevent the creation of a patriachal government of Albashir and Garaang and its logical extension (of) cruel military autocracy.
