China leads the United Nations Security Council this month and, thereby, is in an ideal position to pressure the Sudan government to end the genocide in Darfur. Obviously, China also is in a position to initiate implementation of actions already voted upon by the UN to protect Darfuris
in Darfur and in Chad, and to service all refugee camps properly. The UN is sitting on issuance of funds and peacekeepers.
SaveDarfur will post the petition for voting on line, and deliver hard copies to us so as to obtain hundreds/ thousands of signatures. We must solicit signatures wherever possible: numbers count.

Meet 11:30 near the Chinese Mission to United Nations, 350 E. 35 St. at First Avenue
A selected politician will enter the Mission to present signed petitions to a Mission official; copies also will be presented to a high government official in China.
