I wanted to share it with you, especially her work on bringing Israeli and Palestinian peacebuilders together...
I worked closely with Ms. Avni and I haighly commend her genuine work for peace.

Quote: Dear Friends, Today marks the 40th anniversary since the War of 1967. Like so many aspects of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, even the name of this war is contested. To some it is the June War, to others, the Six-Day War or 'Al Naksa'. In a time of deepening division both within Israeli and Palestinian societies and across the Green Line, we want to honor and acknowledge those courageous individuals who are striving to foster communication, access, understanding and basic human recognition and respect among these two peoples. We also want to acknowledge those who are working tirelessly for the dignified flourishing of both peoples as secure, free, and rights-respecting nations. In the coming days, Palestinian and Israeli coalitions are working together to demand an end to the bloodshed, to the military occupation and to enmity between the two peoples. Just Vision is actively participating in a number of these events, including: Today, Tuesday June 5th, 4 pm until midnight - an event at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque sponsored by Machsom Watch, Combatants for Peace, IPCRI, Yesh Din and the Public Committee Against Torture in Israel. Clips of Encounter Point will be screened between 7:30 and 9:45 pm. On June 8th and 9th, http://Encounter Point will be screening at IPCRI's "June 5th Initiative" event in Tantur, between Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Producer Joline Makhlouf will attend along with members of the Bereaved Families Forum. Following its positive reception at the Al Jazeera International Film Festival in Doha, Encounter Point was shown at the United Nations University in Amman, Jordan. As a result of the success of the screening, the film, and producer Joline Makhlouf as well as civic leaders Ali Abu Awwad and Robi Damelin of the Bereaved Families Forum, were invited to the conference of Palestinian, Jordanian and Israeli leadership in Aqaba, where we personally handed a copy of the film to King Abdullah of Jordan. Yesterday, Encounter Point's trailer and its lead film subjects were featured on Al Jazeera. It will be playing again over the coming days, so please stay tuned. قال –عز وجل-:"لا تَجِدُ قَوْماً يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ يُوَادُّونَ مَنْ حَادَّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَلَوْ كَانُوا آبَاءَهُمْ أَوْ أَبْنَاءَهُمْ أَوْ إِخْوَانَهُمْ أَوْ عَشِيرَتَهُمْ أُولَئِكَ كَتَبَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ الأِيمَانَ وَأَيَّدَهُمْ بِرُوحٍ مِنْهُ..." [المجادلة:22].
وقال –تعالى-:"يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لا تَتَّخِذُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى أَوْلِيَاءَ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّهُمْ مِنْكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْهُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ" [المائدة:51]. وقال –تعالى-:"يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا تتخذوا الكافرين أولياء من دون المؤمنين..." [النساء:144]. وقال –عز وجل-:"لا يَتَّخِذِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الْكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِنْ دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ" [آل عمران:28].
وقال عز وجل-:"يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لا تَتَّخِذُوا عَدُوِّي وَعَدُوَّكُمْ أَوْلِيَاءَ تُلْقُونَ إِلَيْهِمْ بِالْمَوَدَّةِ وَقَدْ كَفَرُوا بِمَا جَاءَكُمْ مِنَ الْحَقِّ..." [الممتحنة:1].
و قال –تعالى-:"قَدْ كَانَتْ لَكُمْ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ فِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ إِذْ قَالُوا لِقَوْمِهِمْ إِنَّا بُرَآءُ مِنْكُمْ وَمِمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ كَفَرْنَا بِكُمْ وَبَدَا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ الْعَدَاوَةُ وَالْبَغْضَاءُ أَبَداً حَتَّى تُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ..." [الممتحنة:4].
