Many investors who know Sudan to be resources –rich country are so keen to come and invest in the war-torn country at their own risk. Probably in response to the incessant frantic calls made by the hungry-for- cash regime which is begging them to come along and invest in the collapsing country. But unfortunately those who already took the unjustified risk soon found out that they needed a math degree to decipher the numberless charges applied by the arbitrary regime, which included paying charges that were poorly explained or out of proportion for any service provided. In fact the spurious surcharges could be attributed to the corrupt long-serving ministers who assumed their posts after their party (the national Islamic front /national congress party NIF/NCP) seized power after toppling the democratically-elected government in 1989. These ministers treat the ministries they preside over as their own fiefs and allow no investment within them if they were not handsomely bribed cash-up-front, and this is because the fascist regime had stuffed all the public posts with its cadres, irrespective of their qualifications or suitability for those positions. Of course the logical resultant was semi-exclusive departments, discordant administrative units and unharmonious government, which has absolutely no obligations, whatsoever, towards the people of Sudan. Worse yet, this anti-people government imposes heavy taxes on every economic activity ,that farmers and other low-income laborers deserted their professions and engaged in alternative ,illegal and marginal jobs ,to evade the illogical taxes .and because all posts are filled with under-qualified pro-regime elements ,ghosts projects and ghost employees emptied the regime’s coffers . Likewise, mismanagement of public funds and the separation of south Sudan, saddled the regime with a whopping deficit of almost 90% DGP. China and Russia are the only foreign countries which play custodians of the outlaw regime , in return for exploiting the isolated country’s minerals and buy them at throwaway prices ,use the country’s unguarded vast landmass as an ideal disposal –area for their chemical-waste and ,at the same time, gain a foot-hold in geostrategic region . Against this background, it is extremely difficult to maintain investors trust in such lawless and versatile country, which has no stable government or safe environment to conduct business, market-friendly banking laws and a suitably reliable infrastructure. Interestingly, the late algaeda leader, Osama bin laden, was surprisingly the only foreign investor, who senselessly blew all his personal wealth on infrastructure schemes to help the bankrupt tyranny stand on its feet , but much to his dismay ,he fled the country when he discovered that those whom he was honestly trying to help were negotiating his extradition, as they did with the famous terrorist CARLOS and a handful innocent Sudanese people whom the criminal regime falsely alleged of being terrorists , to provide against the incalculable reactions of the wounded American beast, in the aftermath of 9/11. Needless to say, all the assets left behind by Mr., Osama bin laden were gone with the wind؟ Usually ,Allover the world investors use the modality of single-window, but in Sudan investors have to pay and pay ,to open up countless coin-operated closed doors ,in other words they have to bribe everyone from federal ministers, who openly ask for bribes, down to gate keepers and soldiers at check-points ,who don’t allow passage for any moving locomotives unless they pay or are otherwise bear yellow governmental number-plates . moreover the international community has no relish for lifting the economic sanctions imposed on the country , or write -off the back-breaking debts of the country ,so long as it is insisting on allocating 80% of its budget on its security ,while children who cant afford to pay the compulsory illegal fees have no access to education , to say the least of other public services which are simply non-existent ,particularly health, that people go to traditional healers and marabouts for treatments ,whereas the corned regime is trying to appease its numerous opponents by bribing them with top-jobs ,which will further inflate its already badly inflated payroll, which send shiver in the spines of the long-serving cadres fearful of dismissal ,that some of them allegedly resorted to fisticuffs and refused orders from their superiors ,emboldened by their knowledge that their regime’s muscles are now pretty flaccid with no fight in them .
