In spite of his 25-year reign of terror, mass-killing and displacement, #####ng of public –money and chaotic lawlessness…Sudan’s puppet ruler is still longing to remain in power for yet another 5-year term in office. Those who lived through his pitch-black era depict that as a relapsing fever, which has all the ingredients of further deepening the national crisis of the war-torn country. Sudanese people, however, are unlikely to welcome such news, having suffered a great deal under the yoke of this tyrannous regime which toppled a democratically-elected government back in 1989. The return of the man simply means more deterioration and dragging the country into the unknown and discouraging the Sudanese expats in Diaspora from coming to contribute to rehabilitating their war-ravaged country. Of course we, Sudanese nationals, know better than outsiders that the general was never acting up to his own opinions in running the country for the past 25 years, because he is under double-captivity (the ICC and the shadow/parallel Islamic government) this clandestine inner-circle is holding all the strings and is so powerful to the extent of non-adherence even to presidential decrees? This shadow government is made up of members from the so-called Islamic movement of Sudan, which staged the coup in 1989 and is directly responsible for all the capital crimes committed in the country ever since, including some unprecedented physical liquidations in car-accidents and plane -crash incidents which did not spare even pro-tyranny weighty figures .this infamous secret government operates ,in total impunity, under the code name of security and some times the upper boards, the system and/or the federal authorities etc. it pokes its nose in every affair and lades unlimited amounts of money from the public-money pool(some estimates set it at 75%). And its elements are simply above –the-law that it is no exaggeration comparing them to Nazi Germany’s officials in Hitler’s era? Understandably, these groups are against any change, which was best demonstrated recently when a rumor filled the air of the general’s intention to select the military district commanders as regional rulers-of-states directly reporting to him .they allegedly made a display of power in Khartoum to send a clear message to the general of their disapproval of such designs( that intention is certain to be shelved ,because he knows very well what could happen to him if he insisted to press a head?)Therefore, no fundamental change is in prospect..Only minor changes and transfers of the same old faces? As such, no local solutions, let alone external ones should be expected from such people to the chronic problems of potable water, health, education and unemployment etc. Furthermore Sudan will never step out of its isolation because the irregulars killing, raping and burning densely- populated villages in the Blue Nile state, Darfur and the Nuba-mountains are on the regime’s pay-roll???The regime in its present form is incapable of ruling Sudan alone for keeps. Therefore it has better not take international treaties, charters and agreements for imperfect obligations? Because if it continues to disregard the aspirations of its people in peripheral Sudan ,thinking that time is working in its favor, then it will ,one day, wake up to calls demanding edging away from Sudan itself ,by putting into effect the BINDING nevasha charters which are applicable TO ALL Sudanese regions. And anyone ruling out such scenarios while seeing the re-shaping our whole region is being subjected to, is a confirmed dolt, who should feel free to attend the absurd inauguration ceremony of the general who won the fraudulent and boycotted elections in which only 30% of eligible voters participated.
