Still today many people in and outside Sudan think that the regime ruling Sudan now is made up of conscious and responsible politicians, who can make and take decisions?. And based on this groundless assumption they drown themselves in zero-resultant intermittent negotiations with the regime, without practical measures that could adequately address the disputes which threaten to set the whole region ablaze. They know not that the supreme authority in today's Sudan lies in the hands of the influential security which parasitize on the public treasury, and which is exclusively staffed by personnel from the notorious fascist tyranny of Sudan. In other words the security is the defacto government in Sudan today, Because it controls all aspects of life in the troubled country that no decisions will ever be executed if they lacked their prior consent and approval, even if they were initiated and approved by the president himself? While any verbal directives on the phone from the lowest –ranking persons of the security goes into immediate effect with surprising ease? Because they enjoy above –the-law status that gives them free hand to operate in total immunity, getting away with all kinds of crimes such as, torture, unlawful arrests, blackmail ,post-printing confiscating of daily papers(to inflict heavy financial losses on the publishers?) and even murder, in addition to their direct supervision of trafficking weapons from port Sudan to Sinai peninsula in Egypt, which was translated in three preventive Israeli air-raids which killed the traffickers and spared the master minds whose behavior and policy has not changed ,judging by their recent storming of the immigration premises in port Sudan ,where Egyptian radicals who had fled their country were being interrogated by the immigration authorities and were chanting (our brothers are in Khartoum ,take us there?) All of a sudden security elements rushed in and hastily escorted the radicals away, ordering the immigration authorities to shut their jaws for keeps? This situation of a state within the state is making life unlivable in Sudan, because the security pokes its nose in every singular affair, from recruitment, travel-ban lists, intimidating those who do not share their views …to renting out the country to foreigners under the pretext of FOREIGN INVESTMENT? This chaotic situation confused investors and scared them away because they realized they had to have open cases of big bucks to get through many doors before they could start business? Needles to say the security is not in favor of any change of this favorable winds and will do all they can to sustain this status quo to continue living on their lavish life styles betting ,if need be, on their powerful, parallel, better -armed and better-paid army which is far more better than the state army which was deliberately degraded? As such, and even if foreign mediators stroked a peace-deal with the rebels, the security will find means to undermine it. Because peace would mean removing the lid from the countless atrocities they were implicated in and which were meant to remain undisclosed forever. Therefore it would be unwise to ignore the fact of their being the real rulers who, not only extradited Carlos but, handed over even their own citizens to the CIA to ease the pressure put on them by the USA then. True though, wanting things to change in a radical way costs much, but the regime insisting to pilot its boycotted and meaningless elections towards a false recognition is no help. Because when any regime's deep crises reach climax, the need for redirecting course becomes the pressing priority ,not another unpopular and selfish attempts aiming at consolidating power in the hands of the same people who failed for twenty five years on stretch, in a war-torn country on the brink of disintegration? Luckily opposition for the fascist tyranny is now gathering momentum, and if the regime does not chart its way towards a consensus, then its ridiculous made-to-measure elections will only deepen its already numerous disputes, particularly if it came up against the security, which, as always and without spelling out its intentions is expected to veto and abort any genuine change not falling down in its line.
