Once upon a time all ants gathered infront of me as thier hostage with presumbly a petition of withdrawl from Afghanistan,Iraq and palestine. Two of black ants blindfolded me and then a white winged ant opened my eyes.It demanded from me to read a plaquard fumbling it by her antenna as if it were written in Braille way. One of ants asked me if Iwork for Jazeera T.V channel to enterprete for me the message of ants. No, I replied but my talents allow me to make your sound audible. The friendly ant read for me in a glib tongue the message of ants:stop violence.Life is sweet. The ant sound as it read was in echo equal to the shouts of millions against war in Cuba,London,Cairo etc.
Ants knew from the time of prophet Solomon how to maintain peace in thier colonies. One morning as the commander Solomon stood a short distance a way reviewing his army.In thier panic ants forgot to salute him.He greeted them as usual but they were busy with an evacuation of thier fellow ants from the troop route. The leading instructed them to stay indoors so as not to be destroyed by Solomon and his fighting force. The first curfiew was imposed by ants to be emulated by man. Human thinks of how to terminate his or her life but ants are forced die in circumstances that resemble plane crash incident. One evening an ant with a fat abdomen flew at an altitude close to my head elevation and her heavy wieght impelled her to fall into the ground. Obeisity is killing. Do we learn from ants?.
A message of peace and love

We should open a window into a safe and intolerant world, a window starting from the victims cemetry to the last house in life. Peace doesn't begin from a supper hall in London or Paris but it starts from a woman's heart and a child's smile. A small voice cried out of fear. His head injured as result of a stray bullet. That was Sameer, a Syrian child.Doctors could intervene at the right time to save him.His mother gave a prayer of thanks for his recovery and deliverance. I saw once elders hugging thier ageing grand children whose tired eyes blinked with tears of nostalgia and happiness after the fall of Berlin wall. Such a view gives the hope of reunion to those who have misssing loved ones. Among them is Fatima. She is a Somalian girl with a stounding beauty and admirable composure. She waved to me from a U.N erected tent while standing with her two surviving sisters. She wanted to write a message to her mother lost somewhere but the red cross postman surprised by his early arrival. She attempted to jot down a note as she fumbled for her pen in the bundle of thier possessions, she found a letter from the palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish. She decided to hand to the Red Cross Mail because it throbbed with her love and longing to her absent mother.
Dear mother,
Akiss for you and salutation. What else should I say?Where to begin and where to end?How is my father?Does he still pray? Does he still love the children and the land? Why did I write this letter?! You may be dead or perhapse a live without an ddress.

I was born and bred in Gedaref where I knew the meaning of waiting in Siberia prison and some experiences of suffering. When my friends urge me to leave to Canada or Australia, Iremember that part of Doestifisky letter to his younger brother:life is life everywhere. The city is not an oil lake but life with hope and by hope is a dream if not realized at least will never end with every newborn.
Here in Gedaref,I hear whispers of people IIove and love is an important part of life story. Peter Akrokod expressed the extent of Londoners love of thier London as prisoners dreaming of more confinement and that one of them yearns to savouring the smoke of an underground train even in death bed!. We, in Gedaref love our hometown too but not so madly like Londoners.
have many friends in Gedaref.Among them is Kamal Ahmed who works as a private tuitor.I can read on his sweaty face and weary expression what Sitor an Indonesian poet once wrote:"...Long have dreamed of sun-rays of a future to others".
When Ireturn to Gedaref,I experience like Dostoevsky a mixture of gaiety and gloominess. Gedaref is the beautiful sad joy. Gedaref is an attractive city. Ilove its rain greened plain. The rain like the Nile river is an artery that feeds the whole town.
