New Head of Delegation takes up his duties

The designated Head of Delegation of the EU Delegation in Sudan, H.E. Mr Robert van den Dool, arrived in Khartoum yesterday.

Ambassador Robert van den Dool, the new European Union Ambassador to Sudan is a 54 years old diplomat from the Netherlands.

He is specialized in Macro Economics, Development and Public Finance Management. As a career diplomat he has been serving in the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 28 years.

In this function he was posted to Mozambique, South Africa, Zambia, South Sudan and Ivory Coast. He was the former Dutch Ambassador to South Sudan and Ivory Coast.

After handing over his credentials to the Interim Sovereign Council of the Republic of the Sudan, Mr. Robert van den Dool will begin his mandate to improve the Sudanese- European Union relations.
