Young Hearts Campaign of Sharjah Charity Association Carries out (80) Therapeutic and Diagnostic Heart Catheters







Madani, Sept. 18 (SUNA) The Young Heart Campaign of the Sharjah Charity Association has started the operations of 80 therapeutic and diagnostic heart catheters, holes closure, congenital malformations and open heart surgery for children of age from 3 months to 15 years free of charge at Wad Madani Center for Cardiology during the period from 14 to 24 of current September at a total cost of 2 million SDG.
The director of Wad Madani Cardiology Center, dr. Mustafa Ibrahim Mohamed Ali revealed in a statement to (SUNA) that the medical delegation headed by cardiac catheterization Consultant Dr. Ahmed Mohammed in the UAE, and Dr. Mansour Al-Mutairi, the pediatric surgery specialist in the UAE, pointed out that the medical staff includes 40 specialists and technicians, announcing the completion of 7 open heart operations out of 25 targeted operations, and 26 catheterizations out of 50 targeted.
He added that the center has provided a contribution to the patients amounted to 700 thousand pounds, which consisted of exempting sick children from procedures fees that include the file, hypnosis, sound waves and laboratory tests, in addition to providing meals for sick children and their companions throughout the patient's stay in the center.
Dr. Mustafa noted that the daily average of frequent emergency clinics of the center is between 50 to 60 patients per day, and 1500 to 1800 patients in the month, while clinics receive about 700 transferred patients, noting that the center conducts 20 open heart surgery monthly 20 and 100 catheterization.
In the survey made by SUNA a number of patients who have performed free catheterizations and open heart operations, have confirmed that their children were okay.
