Foreign Ministry Welcomes Statement on UN Country Team on Lifting of US Sanctions

Khartoum, July 10 (SUNA)- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the statement issued by the United Nations Country Team in Sudan, dated on July 10, 2017, which has expressed the aspiration for a positive decision that will lift the American sanctions imposed on Sudan.
The ministry also announced its satisfaction on the facts and evidence included in the UN Country Team which has affirmed the close cooperation between Sudan and the international community on the humanitarian issues at both the regional and international levels.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has highly appreciated the constructive spirit reflected in the statement.
The ministry has renewed Sudan welcome of the American initiative for arrival of the humanitarian assistance to the two areas, especially under the atmosphere of confidence and optimism which have been supported by the decision of the President of the Republic to extend the unilateral cease-fire and to direct the official and civil institutions to continue delivering the humanitarian aid to the brothers in South Sudan State.
The ministry has reiterated the resolution and commitment of the government of Sudan to continue cooperation with the United Nations and all the partners operating in the humanitarian field, exerted all efforts for realizing durable peace and sustainable development and to work seriously with the regional and international partners to keep international peace and stability.
