Khartoum, May 28 (SUNA) - The Vice-President of the Republic Hassabu Mohamed Abdel-Rahman has stressed state's commitment to implement entitlements of Doha Document for Peace in Darfur.
Hassabu said in the Conference of the Social Peace in Darfur, in presence of the Head of the Transitional Darfur Regional Authority (TDRA) and the Walis (governors) of Darfur States, that Darfur has now recovered from infestations during the past 13 years, stressing that the government's priorities in the next phase would be the reconstruction of Darfur, encouragement of voluntary return and sustainable development in the field of education, health, water and roads as well as the implementation of the national projects, roads and the national electricity grid.
The Vice President pointed out that the National Dialogue reached its ends and fulfilled major political success with the participation of political parties and armed movements, adding that (We want to disseminate the culture of dialogue and to change violence to the acceptance of others).
Hassabu emphasized that the only way to resolve the pending issues was through the dialogue, commending the efforts of the State of Qatar in supporting development projects and the Darfur Peace Agreement.
He gave directives to the governors of Darfur states to brief the grassroots with the outcome of the conference, pointing to the holding of the federal government conference in the coming days to strengthen local governance.
He stressed the importance of adoption of legislations by the state legislation councils determining choice standards of the chief of the native administration and his powers, calling on Darfur society to renounce violence, outlaws and armed movements so that the regular troops could perform their duties.
