Khartoum, 26 May (SUNA)- The Minister for Social Security and Welfare, Mashayer Al Dawalab, has stressed that she welcomes any initiative from the civil society organizations that seek to fight poverty in eastern Sudan's most impoverished provinces in the state.

The Minister, who received a delegation from Eastern Sudan Talawait Charity, has welcomed the plan and strong partnership the charity has built for the implementation of some 16 project in the Red Sea and Kasala States that seek to help increase production and productivity and fight poverty in these areas.

The Minister has commended the lead role of the civil society organization in eastern Sudan region.

The meeting was briefed on the various interventions of the society, including efforts on attitude knowledge and practices in the area as well as efforts to change the food culture in the area.

The meeting also stressed the need to development agricultural and industrial initiatives with the civil society which will, in collaboration with partners, help alleviate poverty in the most impoverished communities in the area.
