Khartoum, May 4 (SUNA) - The Minister of Minerals Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Sadiq Al-Karuri has revealed that the talks with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the joint exploitation of the minerals at the bottom of the Red Sea in the common area (Atlantis 2 Project) came out with an agreement on the details on the exploitation of these resources.
Dr. Al-Karuri explained, in statements to the press following the Sudanese-Saudi talks, that the talks discussed the reports submitted by the Manafie Company, the company of the franchise on the exploitation of the resources existing at the bottom of the Red Sea in the common area between the two countries.
He pointed out that the reports on the company confirmed its seriousness to comply to the costs of the project studies, which total 76 million dollars up to the production phase that he said it would be in 2020, revealing that the studies verified availability of huge wealth at the bottom of the Red Sea, adding that the two sides reviewed ways of Saudi investment in mineral sector in Sudan.
The minister stressed his ministry readiness to remove all the impediments facing the Saudi investments while extending the necessary facilities for the mutual benefits.
