Khartoum, May 1 (SUNA)- The Speaker of the National Assembly, Prof. Ibrahim Ahmed Omer, has lauded the role played by Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, during his office term as the Foreign Minister for enhancing Sudan relations with Egypt and the Gulf states.
This came in his address to a festival held at the National Assembly (Parliament) Sunday to honour and to bid farewell for Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail who was appointed as Sudan Ambassador to Switzerland and the country's representative to the international organization in Geneva.
The festival was attended by the heads of the parliamentary committees and the diplomatic missions in Khartoum.
Prof. Omer hoped that Dr. Ismail will work in his new position with the same efficiency for realizing the goals of Sudan.
He also appreciated the internal role of Dr. Ismail and his outstanding participation in enhancing the National Congress relations with the other political parties.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ismail said that the Sudanese Parliament aims mainly for establishing strong relations, referring to the challenges that confronted Sudan.
Dr. Ismail pledged to do his best in his new position in Geneva, appreciating the enhancement of Sudan foreign relations, especially with the Gulf countries.
