Khartoum, Feb. 17 (SUNA) - The Arab Investment and Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (Dhaman) has announced continuity in supporting Sudan to attract capital inflows and encouragement of its exports to all Arab countries through its insurance services.
The Director General of Dhaman Fahd Rashid Al-Ibrahim revealed, at the Sudan Investment Forum held Wednesday at Al-Salam Rotana Hotel, that Sudan received 12% of the total its guarantee operations of $ 13.3 billion in 2015, which estimated with more than one billion dollars.
Al-Ibrahim praised the efforts Sudan exerted in attracting major companies from Germany, China, Malaysia, India and Arab countries such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Egypt to invest in mining, oil, agriculture, manufacturing, services and real estate.
The Dhaman director expected a promising future for investment in Sudan depending on continuity of plans and programs aiming at improvement of the investment climate in line with the attraction of finance and signing of agreements.
He hoped cooperation of Arab institutions and decision-makers in the public and private sectors to encourage and attract diversified investments to Sudan.
He stressed that attraction of investments would remain a challenge for governments after the global financial crisis and competition of the world countries among themselves, urging the Arab countries to develop integrated programs and plans to attract foreign investment for its importance in achieving balanced development.
