Khartoum, Feb. 14 (SUNA) - Tribal leaders of Darfur have appreciated the peace agreement reached in early last January in North Darfur between the government, Sudan Liberation Movement (Dr. Salih Adam Ishaq faction), the Justice and Equality Movement (Mohamed Ibrahim Azraq faction) and Sudan Liberation Movement (Nur-Eddin Zurgi faction), in presence of representatives of the federal government.
Meanwhile, the king of Berti tribes, Yasser Hussein Ahmed, said in a statement to SUNA that the agreement will contribute to the peace efforts in Darfur in general and North Darfur State in particular.
The undersecretary of the king of Berti tribes, Sheikh Ummara Abbakar, said the signatories of the peace agreement have prevented Darfur and Sudan from war and destruction, hoping that the agreement will be implemented on the ground.
He said that the signatory movements have arrived in Khartoum to participate with the political parties and the other movements in the inclusive national dialogue for achieving solutions for Sudan problems.
He called for adopting the method of peaceful negotiation instead of war for solving all Sudan problems.
